Not in a woman's prison. They don't care.a male prison yes, different story.

There's this romantic notion that prisons house a bunch of honorable Robin Hood types when in fact it's a who's who of human trash. Even the men's prisons have entire units devoted to child predators and the likes. In fact, she won't even get a high custody level.

Disgusting! Those poor children! 💔💔💔

So heartbreaking! At the same time, if I saw this as a parent, I would not be able to show restraint! Criminal charges for all!

Didn’t the parents notice bruises? over 100 occurrences and no reports of bruising? Hmm.
@pigcatapult16 сағат бұрын
Being hit doesn't always mean being bruised. I grew up in a violent household but never had a mark to show for it.
@Constance-cl3wg16 сағат бұрын
There’s no way she was kicking children and yanking them around or standing on fingers 130 times without markings. If she was nudging children gently with her foot, then this story is quite hyperbolic.

@@pigcatapultMaybe not a physical mark, but what about emotional ones?
@tanyadolan756016 сағат бұрын
Even if there was not bruising or marks but there would have been emotional change in the children. Either they would have flinched from any movement that an adult would have made around them or a change in behaviour that the parents would have or should have noticed.

Do they not require a police check? In Canada anyone working with children must have a police screening before even stepping into the premises.

Texas prioritizes deregulation and doesn't have independent oversight. Every state that claims to care about children... doesn't.
@user-ys2ko2jt4y17 сағат бұрын
They do. The issue is when the offences go undetected while the person is working due to no one reporting what they see or hear.
@pillfairie17 сағат бұрын
Generally alot of jobs require one. I work at a daycare and had to have one but oddly enough I did NOT have to take a drug screen which I personally would find concerning if my kid was still in daycare...
@Alayhoo16 сағат бұрын
The majority of states in the U.S. require at least a basic background check, which is essentially just a way for an employer to see whether or not you're a felon. I'm assuming a police screening is the same thing as a background check? It seems like a lot of the perpetrators of crimes like these, particularly women, don't have a criminal record; so, it's not a useful screening tool in terms of assessing someone's risk of causing harm. Risk assessments are often a legal requirement for daycares here, but no one is actually checking in to ensure said legal requirements are being followed. It usually takes something like this before someone notices there's a problem. 😑

The checks work great, except when a worker has never been caught. No history to see.

@@gems5638 That is the most ridiculous and baseless criticism of homeschooling. Millions of kids are homeschooled every year and are far better socialized than kids in formal educational programs. It’s not homeschooled kids shooting up their classrooms, bullying their classmates, and assaulting their teachers.

My husband and I work opposite schedules just so we never have to put our children in daycare. It's been a big sacrifice, but absolutely worth it. You never know who those people really are or what they're doing

We did the same. It was stressful and exhausting, but we chose to work different shifts to keep our children safe.
