I use the *HOTDUPS* as my commuter outfit and have no problems wearing it. It's a comfortable jacket, the fit is great and it doesn't lose its shape, and there is a special pocket on the inside of the garment that is very convenient to put some change without worrying about losing it. I don't need a backpack when I go out with it. I love it too much

I find if we’re the Seller we tend to think we’ve been far more careful with the bag than we actually have but if we are the Buyer, we scrutinise every millimetre for the slightest imperfection, more so if the Seller is asking what they paid for it even though it’s used. I use a leather wipe to remove the hardware marks from bags and a jewellery polishing cloth on the hardware - it’s amazing how filthy the hardware gets! We all get a little battered but nobody loves us any less for it 😂.

I am one of those super careful people but I USE my bags and that damage is gonna happen. Once I stopped thinking of resale and that they are keepers it took the sting out of that first mark, scratch etc. Love that you use your bags! And ick to the Uber!!!

Oddly, for pretty much everything I own, if the small damage was something I did myself, or on my watch, I just think of it as memories. On my baseboard under my kitchen cabinets there is a small area my dog chewed on as a puppy. Now if I had moved in and that was there it would have been ripped out immediately, but after 10 years from her putting those little teeth marks only remind me of her and they are staying. 😂 My oldest birkin is about to turn 15. Has scratches and a tiny bit of corner wear. Only shows how much I love it!❤

It makes me feel better to see how much others peoples bags get damaged as well. I am generally very careful with my bags but I do notice scratches here and there, and then I try not to look too closely the next time and just ignore them. And then I don’t think about it. So then I don’t mind as much. But it doesn’t diminish how much I love it scratches and all! We buy them to wear them and you should enjoy every second of wear and every scratch. Hi Dale! I've learnt that I am ok with really using my bags however I've also learnt that I prefer buying bags at a lower price point personally so that I dont feel bad about really using them. By lower I mean more niche/ contemporary bags anywhere from 500$ to 3k. I damaged my one and only white chanel and now I'm scared to use it more since I know repairs wont be cheep and it's my most expensive bag. My most worn ones are not super mainstream by any means but they are perfect in my eyes. We live and we learn...

Dayle, question please. Your Chanel WOC, the zipper pocket that no one ever uses, does the pocket in your model, go all the way to the bottom like it does in the classic WOC?? Thank you so much! Yes it does go all the way to the bottom. They are just things, they are primarily made of leather which as you say is skin just like ours... so it's bound to happen.

Hey Lovely, Happy Sunday here in sunny Brisbane. I looooove my LV empriente pieces as they don't scratch BUT funny enough the corners wear on these more than any other leathers i have.....and I have babied them. My first date with my new Fendi raffia baguette last weekend and already there are marks on the leather trims where the hardware rubs ....ARGHH. Unfortunately it is not colour transfer it is indented from the rubbing. Just drives me crazy. But you gotta use them !

With my first designer bag, I wasn't careful and when the marks were showing, I didn't use it anymore. Until I got a second bag and looking at other people's bags and the trend of the trashed Birkin came in. Then I started to use my first designer back. And I love it again

The clasp area on my Fendi First was the first place to get scuffed too, luckily it’s very tiny and my hand usually covers it when I carry it anyway. I somehow scuffed mine while out for a romantic Birthday dinner at my favourite restaurant with my partner & I think about that night more than the scuff mark

me, im going to use it and not care. me, when I'm home inspecting them 😭 lol. however, slowly I've learned to brush it off and keep it moving that even hubby has been surprised. last Saturday it was pouring down rain and he said leave the boy in the car, me-no, that's why I got it in caviar. i swear he almost dropped dead by my response lol. the bag got drenched, dried off on its own, and was fine.

The first piece of damage is the hardest for me no matter if it’s cheap or expensive (… is this a “first cut is the deepest” moment or just me? 😂)… but after that it’s not such a big deal. I’m one of those people that always cringes the first time I drop or damage a new book … even though I actually love my used and well read books.
