Those corporate Italian restaurants freeze their lasagna and stuffed pastas, and also microwave a few items. A lot of times you are lucky to even get regular pasta like spaghetti and penne that is cooked on the same day they serve it. These restaurants stress limiting waste to their managers and employees and sacrifice food quality as a result.

@@Rhyd Lasagna should be heated up in the oven, it's not very hard. When I managed an Italian restaurant, we made one tray of lasagna before dinner, if it sold out, it sold out. If we had any left over we made a lunch special for it the next day. Lasagna should always be fresh.

@@furiogiunta7886 Exactly. Why do these places serve it up in these dishes just to let them sit and reheat is crazy. It’s either a cost saving measure or they don’t have the in-house facilities to prepare dishes on site. Lots of UK pub and restaurant chains do similar to avoid hiring actual chefs.

Right after High School, and during my College years I worked at a small Mom & Pop Italian place. Everything was made from scratch and was loaded with love. That stuff you got looked like it either came from a can or was frozen from a bag. When Momma Ginny, and Poppa Paul retired I was given their recipe book. I still have it to this day, and this was many moons ago. I still use the book to make sure anything I make comes from the recipe book. If someone leaves my table hungry well that is your own problem.

I don't know for sure, because I've never worked one, but I feel like soups in particular get that weird top to them even if they sit for a minute or 2. Granted, this one did look pretty deep, but to me it seems normal. Again, I'm not 100% sure lol

Very true... imo It's tough to find great or even decent Italian restaurants. The same goes for Soul Food Restaurants. The best of those cuisines you'll get is if someone makes it at home from baked mac n' cheese, collard greens, etc... Too.... Italian dishes in gnocchi, rigatoni, pasta bolognese etc... Always hit or miss but mainly miss.
@stefanmarchione6757

💯 So true! Those two cuisines are often hit or miss when dining out. I'm Italian, and boy can I cook. Incidentally, those two are my favorites. Also, in addition to Italian food, I can make some soul food. I've always listened & learned from other cooks. It's unfortunate that people go out and spend 💵 for a nice dining experience, to only be served crap in the end. 😞

When you see the film on the soup, that tells you the soup is already store in bowls and probably microwaved or kept in a warmer to get out quickly, most likely leftovers. Fresh soup wouldn’t have that film that quick if put into your bowls. The spinach dip was most likely frozen, as well as the pasta. That pasta was over cooked just by the look of it, and the meat on the lasagna looked like a low grade dog food. No white sauce either.

I do feel that some restaurants get unfair reviews due to poor wait staff, or if someone has a bad day. Though to be fair, I think that a lot of people aren't patient enough. I've noticed a lot of people who expect their servers to only serve them, and nobody else. I feel like it's gotten worse post lockdown. People just need to chill and give servers a little leeway. They're working for less than $5 an hour and depend on your tips. Their job is extremely stressful from the moment they get in their car to drive to work. Show them a little love and compassion. You aren't the only person in the restaurant

It's not very many restaurants that do fresh ingredients, however the mistakes they make is by cutting corners instead of focusing on the quality of the food. That lasagna had too little color on the moz for me. Needed a bit under a broiler, then the added basil.

That film on the first two dishes gives away that it was microwaved leftover style. The coagulation on the lasagna tells the same story. This is all day or two old and microwaved.

Damn. This makes me sad. Brio used to be my spot! The lasagna does look decent but def not freshly made.

Oof, I’d even take Olive Garden over that. Been near that restaurant several times, considered eating there, but glad I didn’t. Never going to set foot in that place. Thanks man, love your content

That lasagna looks sketch, like it was pre-fab, and then reheated by Chef Mike. Not enough to save the joint.
