That was a great observation on your part. The lead singer was Bobby Debarge, one of the older Debarge brothers. He passed away at a very young age. He and El Debarge sound exactly alike. So your observation was right on point. What I love about classic music is the way in which it was arranged and the uniqueness of the voices. Back then music had so many dimensions to it.

@@davids5336 When “I Call Your Name” came out in ‘79, I was 6 yrs old. A vivid memory of Xmas that yr was the tragic death of a black man named Arthur McDuffie at the hands of police officers in Miami. We had fam in South FL and they called my parents giving all the details. The cops (all white) tried to cover it up by staging an accident but eventually they confessed to beating Arthur McDuffie to death. Despite the cops’ confessions, an all-white jury acquitted the officers. I was too young to grasp it all but it’s something that stayed with me from Rodney King to Ferguson to George Floyd. No offense but I’m just not one to romanticize any era. For example, I’m glad I was a kid at that time bc starting a career during affirmative action would’ve been unsettling for me.

To make it clear, when I say I'd like to go back in tine to a certain time and place, it's about going back to carefree and happy moments that are so very few and far in between! I am not so naive and clueless to believe that any particular decade had a blissful history, but I am an idealist and an optimist believing that one day we will all experience our own personal Paradise where all the evils and challenges of the Universe will not exist, or at least they will be manageable, not overwhelming obstacles that try to swallow and demolish our very soul!
