Bette Davis is an Icon Of American Films. She was famous for her take no crap/strong women roles from the 1930’s thru the 1980’s. She was an Academy Award winner and was nominated many times. She was also known for her amazingly large and expressive eyes. Glad you enjoyed the song.

Arguably the greatest and most '80s synth riff ever, and likely the first big wide-ranging pop synth hit song. Gary Numan's "Cars" and other songs, mostly new wave songs, preceded this, but new wave was still more of a niche genre in the U.S. until '82, based on the Billboard Hot 100.

This song was the top selling single in 1981. Single as in A side = the hit song and B side often a less marketable, more challenging song, but usually only 1+1 songs on a 45 rpm or cassette. They still sold single cassettes in the mid 90s. I don't know when that as a thing phased out completely.

I wrote a paper in college. It was about a book we had to read. It was about a woman who acted innocent, but she ate the souls of every man she was with...sort of like a black widow. She would get men to fall for her, and then she would crush them. It took place in the late 1800's. in New York City. I named the paper, "As Pure as New York Snow, which I got from this song. I guess that's plagiarism in a way. My professor said she cried when she finished reading it. I always used to end my papers using the title. I'd be like blah, blah, blah, blah....as she was, "Pure as New York Snow". It was a great affect.
