What I did in my latest run: getting the SMP early, giving Copeland the drugs, earned trust level 2 at Copeland's Camp, upgraded the bike and now I am preparing to hit the Lost Lake region, Iron Butte & Wizard Island before taking on the story missions. It really makes a difference when you take on the hordes - even the smaller ones: Don't do this at night! But that feeling you get when you do the wall climbs with your bike into the forbidden lands is just priceless. I am only 340 hrs into Days Gone on my PS5 (my PS4 is a different story as far as my hours are concerned) but boy I just could keep on playing Days Gone forever. Keep it up, Boris!

Did this for my hard run on Ps4, what a difference it makes. The motorcycle chase bounties were a breeze, with this bad boy. It's speed and damage are insane. Once again Borislav you are the Sage on the mountain top ( of dead freakers ). Thanks for the wisdom.

If you have seen his Survival Difficulty Playthrough, even on that difficulty he got the MP9 early. No NG+ Weapons. Limited Resources. Nerfed Weapons because of the difficulty. No minimap. Hats Off to Boris.

Just tried this. Proxy horde was at the watering hole. After I got onto the rock, none of them went to the bottom. The entire horde followed my exact path up and over that log and swarmed me 😂

I can only say that you have to be on the very rock that I stand on. Even if you are over the fallen tree trunk, until you get to that rock location, you are at risk. If the horde is very close behind you when you are getting over the trunk, they will follow you. If you are struggling, using an attractor will help hugely, allowing you time to get properly set up at this location. Hope all this helps mate.

I am finding this as well. (Late to the party as I only just got DG in the steam sale). Three tries so far and every time they swarm the tree trunk. I suppose I just need to 'git gud' but I suspect I may need a, restart as I only found this vid after doing the prologue so I have no attractor for the train horde.... Sigh

@@TheMoulie Make sure you're far enough to the side, try to stand EXACTLY where Borislav is standing in the video. I struggled with this strategy until I paid better attention to exactly where I was standing. If you're standing just a bit too close to the tree trunk, they WILL swarm it and push one over.

Oh mate, there is another horde video that shows an easy kill location for every single horde in the game. This one will get you the amazing SMP9, but check out my "High Ground Glitch For Every Horde In Days Gone" video, and you will see them all my friend. It's got chapters also, so you can find any horde quickly that is giving you problems.

There is Chris. If you bring up the progress menu (using the rectangle sensitive pad on the controller), there is one of them that shows you the names of all the hordes you have currently taken out. Think it's called HORDE KILLER.

Yes field repair is a good choice. Get a fire axe and keep repairing it, 2 hits and you melee most freakers. I end up using this weapon most of the game.

If you love your melee weapons, I strongly suggest you give the challenge OUTRIDE a shot (from main menu, select challenges). The challenge itself has nothing to do with melee, but if you get a bronze, silver or ideally a gold score (I have videos that show how to do this), you unlock a patch perk that gives better melee weapon durability, and this is applicable to the main days gone game. If you get a gold score, you are credited with a patch that gives a whopping 40% durability increase. Worth thinking about if you still have a long way to go in the game mate.

I had no idea that the Molotov at Crazy Willies respawns! On every other playthrough I assumed it was a one time deal - but I've already picked it up 3x this playthrough - go figure!

Yeah, it's strange that the molatov there is respawnable, but the attractor you can also get at crazy Willies is not.

If you're referring to a trophy guide for the main Days Gone game, it's something I might consider in the future. At the moment, it's out of the question as I simply don't have enough time. I do have a trophy guide for the Days Gone challenges in my collection though.

For some reason, even on easy, the first horde won't die, I get to the spot but 6 molotovs won't kill them!

Molatovs don't do a great deal of damage, but on easy and using 6, that should have got virtually all of them so the game may have glitched. Try a previous game save and give them another shot.

I managed to kill two of the hordes before I got the shakes and had to put the game up for a bit even just driving around in that game scares me because every time I’m just driving I’m like oh no I hope I don’t run into a horde rises my stress levels like crazy

That is a completely natural reaction MNG, and you did the right thing mate, seriously. A game is a game, but your health is far more important. The hordes are proper scary with how Bend Studio have them behave, as well as the frickin scary audio that starts going when you are near a horde. Take lots of breaks in between the hordes MNG, and I'm not taking the p&*s honestly. Get a game save in place, then chill for a bit my friend. This is an amazing game, but has one of the scariest problems present throughout the entire game.

Rex, you and Borislav are grandmasters at this game! It is not "easy" what you guys do! But your methods do make things easier, as taking out any horde is damn near impossible on a first play through when you have no idea how to do it! So, using your methods, even beginners like me can take out hordes......after practicing.......and dying over and over till I get the hang of it! I use a PC, but I'm going to get a PS5 and see what the difference is. Thanks to both of you for giving the solutions to how to succeed in Days Gone.

I just started a new playthrough, on hard difficulty this time...pretty dumb to jump from Easy to Hard (well, with an NG+ Normal in between but that hardly counts imo). Anyway, by the time I got to Copelands Camp I was rethinking my choices 😂 .... So instead I decided to follow along with your latest video & get the US556 & MG45 (stopping to grab a ripper axe, remote bomb, attractor & molotov's up the path by the bonfire house) And now bc my memory sucks and I'm a chicken, I'm following along here to get the SMP9 ASAP! @@borislav247 Oddly enough, I find myself not using these weapons nearly as much as I thought I would. Now that I got the saw axe from that street corner I've mostly been doing missions during the day & at night I gather plants, mushrooms & berries while hiding in bushes & throwing rocks to lure freaks to a super sneaky stealthy death so I can increase XP, Trust & Credits that much faster. I really can't believe I'm doing so well on Hard difficulty - I've _always_ played games on the easiest possible difficulty option. Between what I've learned from you, Spawnicus Rex & now GreyGhost Gaming (think that's the right name?) I'm playing better than I ever thought I could! Can't thank you all enough!

​@@borislav247 Apparently there's a downside to spending the night mostly in one area stealthily taking out freakers: the crickets! I noticed em in game & thought nothing of it. Until one started chirping inside my house after I turned the game off! 😂 Poor thing has been in here the last 3days hoping to find a partner that doesn't exist. I haven't had a cricket inside my house since my toads died well over 10-15yrs ago! Yet here we are. Just wish I could find the little guy, put him outside so he'd have more luck 😁

I kinda went a different route but the outcome was the same, and I'm loving the mp9, the brought version I'll not bother wasting my money. I've noticed just in a small time that all the guns you get threw challenges are way better than the vendor guns. All i use is the mp9 the crowdbreaker and CB sniper. And i don't even know how i got the crowdbreaker, maybe because most of the hords i killed was with my gun, I only used the proximity mine on the train hords, the rest i just used molotov and a grenade, kept running back then picking them off when i got too far from range, the first skills i chose was On the move, crowed control and juiced up. Imo best first 3 skills to get. But that's just my opinion and got me threw the hords using less throwables. But man the crowdbreaker will easily take down the big zombie you accationaly come across. And like i wrote before I'm longing this game out, i really enjoy just going threw the map stealthily killing zombies, gets real easy when you get to know the mechanic on how they move to get behind them. Jeez i love this game, 😂

Oh absolutely mate. And because you are not on Survivor difficulty, you will still be able to fast travel, so just follow the steps I show in the video, and you'll be good.

I most certainly did mate, but, the fifth horde that I took on (The Shadow Lake horde) was simply showing how good the SMP9 is, as I was armed with that bad boy after unlocking it, and I took out that entire horde with the SMP9. The 4 hordes I took out to get the SMP9 were the 3 unlocked hordes in Cascade (Proxy Falls, Death Train & White King Mine) and The Lava Arch horde in Belknap. I appreciate you asking, so just wanted to explain mate.

@@borislav247 - I wondered why you didn't take out the Shadow Lake horde like Rex does. Then it made sense. There is always method to your madness! You saved them to use as a demo for the power of the SMP9! Very clever! And you like to say things are "easy" but they aren't, it was damn good marksmanship you displayed in taking out the horde with nothing but the SMP9! That isn't easy to do, it takes practice!

@@thegreatgazoo7579 At the start of the game, you have 3 hordes from Cascade unlocked immediately, but, you also have 4 hordes in Belknap unlocked too, so the forth horde to take on is really a matter of personal preference. Me and Rex always take out the 3 in Cascade as the smallest hordes in the game all come from this region. I simply choose the Lave Cave horde as it has a very nice area to take them out safely. And I will admit TGG, I do sometimes forget that I'm ridiculously competent on this game, so I should ease off with the easy comment. My muscle memory for playing this game is that good, that when I want to do something, I instinctively do it without having to think of what buttons to press, it's simply that well ingrained. You are very kind with you're comments my friend, thank you.

I think it depends how you acquire the weapon in the first place. If you purchased the SMP9, you get the upgrade clip from the same vendor that you purchased the gun from. If you unlocked the SPM9 by killing hordes, I think the clip upgrade comes further down the line with more horde killings. For all the good stuff mate, keep killing those hordes. The Auto Shotgun, IDF Pup & the MG55 can all be got by just killing hordes, and these weapons are always superior to the ones you purchase from the vendors.

I use a controller mate, so it's a combination of using the 2 joysticks. Not sure how you would manage this on a PC if you were using keyboard & mouse.

Ps i always fillup generator 1st then cutdown speakers then turn it on as it dont activate until you turn it on. I never knew bout these hordes bro game tells u to avoid hordes. I always heard send all survivors to mark etc.

The makers of the game try to scare you by telling you to avoid hordes, but the hordes unlock some amazing guns, they are worth going after for sure. The SMP9 especially is an OP weapon early game.

​@@borislav247I finally got top springs trust 2 got my lvl 3 aug and iron grip but dam its a pain in arse getting trust 2 on adas camp. Found out ya get the preorder crossbow from ambush camp also you don't have to hold square down all the way moving cars around (i wondered this so I tried it lol) and you can trick zombies into a stealth kill even if spotted you lol but only 1st instance if it runs at you it dont work but u can throw a rock behind it and it goes for rock hehe.

Why dont ya use survivor senses? (R3 to use) it shows all doors boots bonnets items ammo etc. Ps whats best way at start to go? Ambush camps? Some nero checkpoints?

I generally don't use survival vision much as I have a reasonably good knowledge of everything I am looking for & where I can get them. I will eventually put out a guide which shows how to stay ahead of the game curve for the entire game, but the best advice for now is this, after you have got your hands on the SMP9 (always the first priority) you then need to prioritize the Ambush Camps. Completing the Ambush Camps unlocks craft recipes that are essential to have at the start of the game when Deacon is weak in terms of health & stamina. It's all about getting to the very specific spot that I show. If you want to make life easier, try sneaking past the horde, then you can take your time in getting set up, and then attract them with gunfire (making sure to watch for any strays that might try to cross the log).

Il say 1 thing saf aka AK47 they didn't do it justice except close range (were aks goes full auto anyway) ak is good mid range too but in dg they buffed the recoil on it imo which sucks. Ps can you do the nests here at crazy Willie's or do u have to avoid them? Btw I use crossbow on 1st camp as easy to make are bolts hehe. Oh I agree, there should have been a mission added where Deek comes back to Copelands camp with the Chicago Chopper and just goes crazy on them all for parting out his bike. You just don't f*^k with a man's bike, lol.

I'm playing the game on a PS5 mate. It just plays very nice despite being capped at 60fps.

proxy falls trick didn´t work for me on survival2, they aways jump the fallen tree, the death train works fine. using that fuel truck.

The trick with the fallen tree method is the placement of Deek once you are over the tree, and, if the horde is very near to you when going over the fallen tree, they WILL follow you (as you have found out). I would suggest just racing the bike to the tree area, to give you time to get set up properly. There are other methods for this horde also Julio. I have a dedicated video on this horde that shows a few easy kill areas. Just give it a watch, and try some other methods if this one is too troublesome for you. Not at all. You can start this process regardless of where you are in the game. You just need to be in the North to get the ball rolling. This one weapon is a genuine gamechanger as you become OP very early game. If you don't have the SMP 9, just follow this video, and you won't be long in getting one. I wish you all the best.

I tried the train horde your way without success many times. They run to fast and o ly cew run into exploding truck. I had 100 coming after me.

You just have to make sure you throw the attractor very early & run past the tanker quickly to make sure you get them properly grouped, and it's only a 50 strong horde mate, so impossible to have 100 chasing unless you are playing a modded version on the PC. Hope the info helps mate.

Does Deacon ever find the custom gas tank that Sarah gave him? Does anybody else like to play "dead is dead," meaning the game is over if you die, you must start a brand new game? I play that way, except when practicing, I do not ever use saved games because I died or something happened that I didn't like. I find that playing this way makes the game more immersive.

I don't think that gas tank is ever found again TGG, but I love you're concept of playing the game where if you die, that's it. A very savage way to play it though, but would keep you very sharp with the gameplay for sure.

I can report that your method for killing the Death Train Horde works on a PC using keyboard and mouse, but takes a lot of practice, and re-binding the keys so that you can switch weapons while on the run. The default setting is much too clumsy and requires moving your hands while looking at the keys, which is pretty hard when freakers are right behind you! But re-programming them so that the needed keys are available to one hand, then learning to "touch type" the actions, works! But it is not easy, it takes practice! Your video is the best on KZbin for showing how to kill the Death Train Horde! I have not yet learned how to do the other hordes on a PC, but I will! Thank you!

Doesn't work so well on Hard2 as there are more zombies and I don't have shi@t as far as decent weapons are concerned. Dead from 2/3 slaps at the beginning, So the proxy falls horde took about 8/9 molotovs and nearly all my bullets! Moved on to the train horde there was like half a horde left after I blew up the truck, then the game glitched and disappeared my attractor, so now I'm restarting, from the beginning saving extra times, looks like I'll have to combine several of your videos to pass these levels on Hard2. My favorite is when another half of the horde was after me and then the wolves came! BEAUTY! Lol!

Got to admit, the proxy falls horde gives a lot of people problems, as most people struggle to get to the correct point in time. It is tougher on hard II as the horde do become a lot stronger. You did the right thing in restarting, and the wildlife in the early game stages can really help with these hordes, they basically become free attractors, lol.

I assure you SS, it's only 4 hordes that are required to unlock the SMP9, after that, the next weapon you unlock is the Auto Shotgun (an amazing weapon), but you need to take out 10 hordes to unlock that weapon.

Ps how does the horde actually work? Can u wittle their numbers down and come back later and theres less? Ie making it easier later or dont it? Or you gotta take out all horde? I had a similar experience in marion with concrete walls with metal walls ontop if you hit a zombie thats climbing over with melee u knock em back or kill in 1 hit you can take out small horde doing this (10-15) as they gotta climb over to get you so htf u survived behind that wooden fence man? These walls were higher than that fence u were behind and they climbed over easy thats a glitch there then

You can certainly take out most of a horde and then return later to finish them, however, if you don't return back for a good few days, then the horde will slowly start to respawn their numbers. And yes, you are right mate, there are glitches to where they can & can't climb. I've made very good use of these over the years, lol.

There's a catch with this one mate. You have to make sure the attractor is thrown well in front of you, and be running like hell to get some distance. If you are too close to any horde, they will ignore the attractor & keep on chasing you. Hope this helps mate.

@@SoldierX-Gamer You sound like you're having a ball with the game, but the trust levels at Cascade & Belknap take a while to level up. Taking out hordes, Ambush Camps, Infestation zones & side missions will all help hugely, but also be on the look out for hostages. Rescuing them will earn you more trust level points & camp credits for whatever camp you send them to. Other than that, keep giving them hell my friend.

One thing I don't get is the nero research sites what do you do there i been to one but nothings there are these time constraint? Or part of a mission?

The Nero research sites help you in 2 ways. The first is that they open up fast travel areas on the map (unless you are playing Survivor II difficulty, as fast travel is then disabled). The second is the biggie, and it's all about the Nero Injectors that you find at these sites. They increase your Focus, Stamina & Health, and you get the choice every time what stat you want to improve. Always go Focus first, then Stamina, then finally health. Gun control is king in Days Gone so the focus is fantastic to ramp up early. The sites are mainly optional to take on but they are worth doing. Only exception is at the start of the game where you are required to open up a Nero Site as part of the main missions, but after that. it's your choice mate.

@@borislav247 not checkpoints bro research sites they av a white x i went to 1 and nothing was there i thought it was related to the listening missions deek does for o Brian etc ie were that female researcher for nero does these tests or w/e she does there. Plus they come up after u do nero checkpoints. Ps I no bout injectors at nero checkpoints I'm mainly stamina 45-50% and 20% focus 0 hp (thinking bout adding hp on next injector). Also it must av been a glitch as this search circle happened during a search for campers mission the 2 sisters. I found sisters then blue circle showed up near were I found them i ran all around blue circle area and no vibration fir a clue

@@SoldierX-Gamer These areas do contain an injector & a tape recording (but no Nero Site to open). If you ain't finding anything, consider that some of these x's are pointing out an underground location. Perfect example is the Nero Injector in the Patjen's Lake Horde's cave in the Belknap region.
