DAYS GONE OUTRAGEOUS DUPLICATION GLITCH - A guide To How It's All Done.

Hi folks, on this video I am delighted to show an OUTRAGEOUS Days Gone glitch that allows you to create as many Petrol Cans as you like. Given the great number of uses that these can be put to, this is a gamechanger, as from the very start of the game, you can effectively save hugely on resources at the very start of the game, and every infestation nest area can be taken out with ease as you simply create as many petrol cans as you require for that area. The petrol cans can also be used as fantastic weapons, so I'm not joking when I say, this glitch is a proper gamechanger. Will be interesting to see if Bend Studio go about creating a patch to change this. If you do Bend Studio, all I ask is that you name the patch "the Borislav 247 patch", lol. This is a crazy way to end the year for sure FM, but this glitch came from (you're the first I'm admitting this to) a method I used for carefully dropping canisters in the Infested challenge. I'm a creature of habit & I moved a petrol can then dropped it using this method, then saved the game because I had something to do downstairs, then powered off the console. When I started up the console & reloaded the most recently saved game, I all of a sudden had an extra petrol can I wasn't expecting. I quickly realised that I discovered an insane duplication glitch, and I went about checking every detail of this glitch at this point. A crazy happy accident for sure, and I had to share it with the Days gone community. How long it will stay applicable for?, god knows, Bend Studio will do something about this when they are aware of it, but until then, I hope the Days Gone faithful have a ball with it. I'm delighted you have seen this video, and I wish you & your family all the best. You have supported me beyond belief my friend. I wish you nothing but the best of fortunes in your life.

that really is outrageous fun will make clearing nests so much easier and wont use resources (im terrible for keeping my resources topped up to max on everything, even to the point where i fill up on alarm clocks then gather as many car alarms as possible as even though it only lets you carry 10 alarm clocks once you have 10 you can pick up as many car alarms as you can find and that lets you carry more)

There’s a similar thing at the Patjens Lake horde feeding ground. Clear out the camp where Sarah’s “gravestone” is and there’s a ton of fuel cans you can pick up and toss over the cliff. Put out enough fuel cans and it’s an easy kill

Oh Chris, the possibilities are insane at the moment. I've already been having fun taking out ambush camps & hordes. The hordes in Cascade & Belknap now can be taken out easily with only the use of a simple 9mm. Ambush Camps now are laughable as a few well placed cans, then alert the camp with gunfire, then pick off the cans as they move towards your position, and hey presto, camps can be cleared out quick. This glitch is a game changer for sure.

@@borislav247 The glitch is very location specific too and takes a lot of effort on the player's part, so I don't see it as a way to just cheese the game completely. Hopefully Bend is too busy building their next game to patch this out.

@@TheHOOfan1 You are right in saying that it takes a lot of effort to produce a LOT of cans like I show at Marion Forks, but anywhere on the map where one of these cans are located, can be turned into 6 or 7 very quickly (about 4 minutes of work). You can destroy infestation zones with ease doing this, saving on your molatovs & saving hugely on resources like Kerosine, which can be used for other throwables. You can produce a few in order to take out hordes. The starting hordes in the Cascade & Belknap regions especially can be wiped out easily now before you even have a decent weapon. Not to mention the Ambush Camps. Honestly mate, this glitch is a complete game changer, and I fully expect at some point for Bend Studio to patch it.

I have found you can do the same thing with weapons if you pickup any weapon and change your weapon at any weapon store or your own locker. The weapon you have will drop on the floor and stay there when you cone back, I am playing on pc.

Absolutely LK. you could duplicate numerous petrol cans then set them up in layers where the bear would get totally F*%^"d when heading towards you. There are so many advantages to this glitch, that it's almost destroying the hardest parts of the game.

Pity that this won't work on the Infested challenge. But I'll keep this in mind if I'm ever grinding for petrol cans. :) Here's an idea for an upcoming video - take out an entire horde with nothing but petrol cans.

I did check out possible ways to spawn the canisters on Infested, and I'm pleased that it simply can't be done. Would have ruined the challenge if it was. I'm definitely looking at options to take out hordes. There is one very near Marion Forks, and I have a game save of that area covered in petrol cans, I just have to move them to activate them first. A lot of fun possibilities for sure HS.

I’m in the process of spawning like a hundred of these to take out a horde, but like you said in a previous comment, they’ll be kicking the cans about whilst charging me. But I’m gonna try and place them appropriately and give it a go. Im literally going for at least 40 cans, I’m gonna waste these fuckers. I’ll keep you updated lol.

@@borislav247 so I spawned about 50 cans, and what I found is that I had to pick them all up and place them back down or else they wouldn’t explode. It really only takes care of the front of the wave and isn’t as worth it as just maxing your stamina as much as possible and using stamina/focus cocktails and mowing them down with a LMG (or the Tommy Gun, this is the shit). But it’s a big spending of time for something that ultimately isn’t TOO worth it. Maybe like 10 cans would be good, but remember when your all done spawning them, you have to pick them all up again and they place them back down where you want them.

@@Eshkanama I do agree that the time it takes to create these setups, isn't always worth it, but taking out hordes can be done if you have them running into waves of petrol cans (around 5 or 6 per wave). You basically need to have a few waves to run them into, because as you well know, it's the front of the horde that gets damaged every time.

The twisted wheels in my mind are already focusing on this my friend. I think everyone will have at least 3 weeks before this possibly gets addressed by Bend Studio as they are on holiday very soon (and i think I am under their radar, but If Claire or Rex showed this, it would be a different story). Based on your experiment, is there a upper limit to how many cans you can have in one location? Is there a way I can do similar thing with the proximity bombs or mines? I tried to “store” 10 or so mines inside one home by sticking them to its wall. As you can imagine, they were all gone after a save or two later.

The good news is that there is no limit as to how many cans you can potentially have. Would love to say there is a way to do it with the mines & proximity bombs, but so far, there isn't Paul. If I do find a workaround on this one, I'll let you know.

Hey Borislav, do you have to actually pick them up and throw them? Or can you just walk/run into them, and move them and restore their intended properties?

Well Kwaz, the method to duplicate them is very strict, but, once you reload the most recent save, you can restore their intended properties with either throwing the cans, or simply picking them up & dropping them through selecting something else on the inventory wheel. The only thing I didn't check, was moving them through running onto them (which can move them). I'll get back to you on that one my friend. Appreciate you asking, as I never considered moving them through Deacon running into them and moving them.

Can now confirm that the cans when duplicated cannot be moved at all by running into them, until they have been picked up. Then they behave as normal mate.

I figured out how to do it in debug menu finally it was grouped in with throwables in choose weapon by type,I played all night till 6am,I use the ambient events and increased their numbers,so i get more ambushes and events while traveling so there are plenty of npcs to mess around with,I can load them all back in again.Some camps after getting bunkers respawn like 10 or so npcs and many random renegades setup at gas stations and houses,plenty of post game fun,You can always reset hordes and camps in game after finishing them all,I did 3 Game + was going to do another till i found all this out. @@borislav247

I'm assuming you are refering to the GROWLER weapon. On the PS5, you can only use it on the 2 last challenges in Days Gone. In the main game, you simply can't. Only way you can use the growler in the main game is if you modify the PC version mate.

It was a happy accident. I was looking for a way to place a petrol can or oxygen tank, instead of throwing them, so I used the inventory wheel and this dropped the items nicely (basically looking to drop them on vehicles that have height for the infested challenge). After working out the way to place these items, I immediately saved my game. I was then summoned downstairs for food so I shut down the playstation. Later I restarted the game and loaded up the latest save, and that's when I discovered this, as the petrol can was still on top of the vehicle, but the area I took the petrol can from still had a can there, so I'd created a new petrol can. From here on in, I discovered the rest through experimenting.

Anything you like. Being able to craft more of these early game is huge. You can take out entire infestation nest areas without touching any of your resources. You can craft more cans to take out hordes very easily (the early hordes are not that large in size). You can also use these bad boys to create havoc at any ambush camps. You have a LOT of options.
