Girl I feel you! I just started Fundamentals & my school is fully online. We only have ONE day this semester for skills evaluations. So on October 8/9, we all have to go in & do every single skill from the beginning of the semester until now, so maybe over 12 skills and if we get 3/4 wrong, we’re kicked out of the program. Good luck this semester!! I love your videos. Btw- Did you all have a clinical calculations exam? We have ours on friday and we have to get an 85 to stay in the program & I’m kinda freakin out because I’m terrible at math- do you have any tips on those??
@nataliewood12164 жыл бұрын

I just got signed off on my head to toe physical assessment last week and I'm so happy to have it over with! From what I've heard it's our hardest skill this semester because of how much it includes... I was so overwhelmed with the amount of stuff on our list until I actually got it down and I was like "okay, maybe this isn't actually that bad!" Lol
@torimalin35684 жыл бұрын
Did you write a script for yourself? I'm trying to figure mine out now. We've only covered head, neck and neuro.

Tori Malin Sørensen nursingschoolofsuccess.com/ultimate-head-toe-assessment-transcript/ this is the one I used. I didn’t follow it word for word, but it really helped me with the intro and some verbiage that I was having a hard time with. Good luck! It’s really not as bad as I think we all make it seem 😂

I would say if you can get into AP anatomy, physiology and chemistry. I know it can be a lot but if you take the exams and pass then you don’t have to retake them again in college/university. But if you end up taking them in college then just know you’re going to want to put your everything and make sure you get nothing but lower than a couple B’s (idk where you’re located but here in SoCal it’s SUPER impacted and competitive) you have a few options. Go straight to a 4yr university just know that just bc you get accepted into the university it doesn’t automatically get you into their nursing program you’d still have to apply almost like you’re applying to a new school. You can go to a CC do your prereqs and then transfer to a 4yr or go to a CC and earn your ADN. Just know (again if you’re in a state like Cali) most hospitals will want you to have a bsn or eventually earn one. A lot of hospitals (teaching hospitals) will actually pay for you to get your bsn in exchange for you to work for them for X amount of yrs. Oh and I almost forgot, look up local hospitals and see if they have any volunteering programs and do it, trust me nursing schools love that.
@Cleolc14 жыл бұрын
Also forgot! You can also go straight to a private/career college and get your LVN license and there’s a lot of LVN-BSN bridge programs. Those are accelerated and short about 18-20 months or so. It’s nice if you have no rush in getting into a nursing program and you’ll be making pretty good money for someone as young as you, you’ll be getting patient care experience and you can always save up money for nursing school. Whatever you decide to do just know that there’s not just one way or a right way. Good luck and even tho hs could be overwhelming keep pushing through and remind yourself of your end goal and all those hours of endless studying and sleepless nights will be worth it!

Cleolc1 i don’t think my school has anatomy or physiology as a class but rn im a freshman in honors biology and ik im taking chemistry next year but i’m pretty sure it’s not AP chemistry-im pretty sure the highest chemistry class offered is honors chemistry thanks for the advice tho
