Great vid - Have exact same rifle used 90% of the time at 25 metres for squirrels with JSB Heavies or QYS Streamline 9.56 which both hit hard and give clean kills. JSB Express are deadly accurate but being a lighter pellet dont in my experience hit hard enough.

Nice airgun and pellet review. How do you rate it compared to the air rifles you already own. I've owned an earlier model, daystate huntsman, and an early model Fx impact, both of which I didn't rate compared to my weihrauch hw100 or my air gun technology Vulcan 2. Thanks for the review. It was very informative 👍

I do like the "budget" end of the Daystate range but I like all these rifles individually. they're as good as each other really.

Great video! I have the exact same gun and love it. It's very accurate and the shot count is great considering the small cylinder. Which mount did you use for the Zulus?
@lancsvermincontrol5 ай бұрын
I actually can't remember what mount was on it as I had to give the rifle back.

I have to say that I don't like the Safari stocks. For the money you pay, they just seem like they've been finished very poorly. I know that is the finish they went for, but I'm a shiny stock kinda guy. Nice informative video though. 🙂

I really like this stock that's why I went with it. If you scratch it you can simply rub it out with your finger.

I have only done a small amount of air shooting, but overall, do you prefer "regular" pellets, or slugs?
@lancsvermincontrol5 ай бұрын
I prefer pellets in low powered air rifles when shooting close to mid range but longer distances with higher power then I prefer slugs.
@stevedun871418 күн бұрын
You need to try the QYS 13.9 grain pellets, heavy but not slugs and the fly very well through my BSA R10

Pellet test at 20 yards wont show much or make it hard to tell. need 40 - 50 yards to really show the difference in performance. And make sure to test without the chrono on the barrel, that will change a lot.
@lancsvermincontrol5 ай бұрын
Did you watch the video? I tested at 40 and at 100. The chronograph wasn't on the barrel when I was pellet testing.
@doomfathertm87715 ай бұрын
@@lancsvermincontrol I'll be honest with you mate, not be be an arse but just to be constructive, as an experienced pest controller. When I saw you pellet testing at 20 yards I turned it off, it made me think you didn't know what you were doing, that's totally on me. I don't want to tell you what to do, but I wouldn't of even bothered with the 20 yards in case it turns some people away. Sorry mate, all the best to you and I will watch the rest.
@Kralk.665 ай бұрын
@@doomfathertm8771what complete and utter nonsense you talk, it doesn’t matter what distance any decides to shoot at. You’re clearly one of those people who think distance proves something. Perhaps you need to learn a bit about ballistics before you spout off about distance.
@doomfathertm87715 ай бұрын
@@Kralk.66 Let me explain. at 20 yards the difference in group size can be negligible and there for make it hard to distinguish any real difference, so you need to magnify the test, this is done simply by increasing the distance. By doing this the negligible difference at 20 yards is now magnified to a definitive and noticeable difference. Different pellets also have different BC's (ballistic coefficient values) this is also going to show up more as you increase the distance. I'll stick to writing for airgun magazines, you stick to the youtube comments.
@Kralk.665 ай бұрын
@@doomfathertm8771 have you heard of Linear and Angular measurements. You could shoot at 8 yards and calculate point of impact to any distance from 8 yards. The reason I say 8 yards is because it is an official HFT target distance. No need to explain anything to me mate, been studying ballistics for years. This year I am studying groups and have so far tested 34 different types of 177 pellets. One more thing, I constantly hear pellet on pellet. Well it’s practically impossible with so many variables. I know you can get a nice run of pellets through the same hole but the big question is, how many shots and how green can you do it. Test yourself, print out 40 times capital O on a A4 paper, use aerial font and font size 20, this will give you exactly 5mm diameter circles. Spread them out to get 8 rows of 5. Now shoot them at 8 yards and I would be surprised if you shot over 30% bang on dead center. Give it a try, your be surprised how poor most pellets are.
