Thank you for posting this. Every rifle has its pellet preference thanks to the barrel manufacturing process used by each company. Even barrels that come off the assembly line from the same company have slight variations thanks to burrs or tool marks on the rifling.

If you are not , and were not ever a fan what was the point of this comparison at all ? Stick to using very expensive guns that make shooting easier for guys like you. The S200 looks to have been wind affected more as the spread is side to side on both groups, little to choose really. But how many different pellets did you try in each gun? Neither will shoot the same as well.

Philip, you are absolutely correct. This was still quite an early video and I understand your insight. If I were to do it again, I would do things a little differently.... Onwards and upwards.

Could very well be the trigger. Redwolf with an electronic hair trigger vs good old mechanical trigger on the s200 that require fair bit of work to get it tune in. I know that if I clamp the s200 I should be getting similar result as the daystate grouping.

These types of comparisons are pretty pointless unless you take out all of the variables, at least shooting indoors to take away the wind. If you put two S200s side by side, or two of any of the same gun side by side you would get similarly disparate results. A more appropriate title might be, "Is THIS S200 more accurate than THIS Red Wolf?"
@southwestshooters3 жыл бұрын
I disagree with you on this Brian. Firstly, I don't have access to a long indoor range, shooting over 20 meters indoors is pointless as any gun should be able to hit a pin head. Your point about two s200s, although true, is pointless as I'm not interested in that question. And changing the video title would not be appropriate either, it's essentially a given anyway, people can, and are encouraged, to make this inference themselves. This, regardless of variables, is meant to inform anyone about the two guns. The beauty is you can choose to look at it from any perspective you wish, and although I disagree with your opinion, I still respect it.
@erweebuys3 жыл бұрын
I agree with Brian pointless test, too many variables, I have an S200, that consistently shoots groups much smaller than that.

I used an S200 for FT and HFT competitions for a few years and regularly out shot people using things such as S400/MPR FT, EV2, BSA R10 and many more better and more expensive rifles. There’s no problem loading and absolutely no issues with accuracy but as with all rifles, you must find the the right pellet to suit the barrel.
@mikecreathorn2881 Жыл бұрын
I would suggest that your S200 is not particularly happy with the pellets you used. I have two S200s, a Mk2 and a Mk3. I use either QYS Streamlined 9.56gr or JSB Hades 10.34gr in both guns and can consistantly achieve tight groups better than yours at the same distance. No insult intended, I just wish to convey that the S200 is VERY picky on pellets, I tried many makes and weights before I found the best for my guns.

Okay the Redwolf did better, but not by much. Personally, even if l had the money, I’d go for the little 200 and use the extra cash to MOT, service, rode tax and insure my Citroen C1, and still have enough cash left to maybe buy a second 200! Ok comparison of a two groups of two guns with a difference of 1000 euros in price then the s 200 is away better in the end .now if u try the s 200 with the transfer port screw full open in the legal limit of 12 fpe with air arms heavies or jsb heavies 10,3 u will be amazed what this unregulated gun can do between 185 bars to 110 bars .30 shots in one hole no biger than 6 mm in 25 meters .So unregulated guns must always be fired in their sweet spots pressure areas when they are going to be evaluated. The only combarable gun with the s 200 with the same characteristics is in my opinion the good old bsa ultra and for the daystate the bsa r 10 mk 2 with jsb 10,2 or air arms 10,2 and then try with other pellets.Also s200 can group if you put rocks in the champer but as i know daystates are very difficult to find the best pellet .keep going the good work with the videos

It is personal preference though, isn't it? I've shot springers for literally 25 years before getting into pcp guns and I still can't believe how amazing pcp guns are. I have to be honest I don't enjoy using springers. But that's just me. If you can get good accuracy from a springer then good work my man!

Fx better than both of them. Daystate have lost it for years now..
@southwestshooters3 жыл бұрын
I must respectfully disagree with you. I had to return my FX because it didn't cycle the magazine, and it kept on jamming. This simply is not good enough. I also thought it was poorly made. If you think that, then it's totally cool. I, however, disagree with you. There has never been a single issue with any of my Daystate guns and they are superior to anything I have ever used, including FX guns. I'd actually argue that the guns that Air arms make are better than FX, albeit just a little more old school. Thank you for taking the time to comment on the video.

Good try but this isn't scientific man. Of course the nearly £1000 more Daystate will win. Are you daft? Put that P700 up against your wolverine. Or a really good marksman with gear you might not expect. As long as it's a hit, everything else is a footnote.
