Daytona USA 2 Battle on the Edge: Destroying the competition (1st on Expert Course)

Used the very probably "shittiest" setup for the Hornet car for beating the other racers like they are nothing.
How to use Hornet Classic in this version of the game:
- Before starting the game, change the shift gear to the first shift
- Start the game, and in the track selection screen change the shift gear to the fourth gear
- Still in the track selection screen, press the V. R. buttons in this order: 1, 4, 2, 4, 1, 2, 2+3 (Both at the same time) and 1.
- Now select the track and if you've done everything right, none of the 3 normal cars will appear, and the Hornet classic car will appear, which has customizable performance.

I picked up Daytona 1 at the start of May having never played it in my life (I was a 2000's kid). Lmao despite all these realistic racing games of today I completely prefer Daytona 1. Already it's literally one of my favorite racing games of all time, it is so fantastic to play. I've already got 30+ hours in it lol! Same goes for Daytona 2 Power Edition, it's fun as HELL. I even looked towards other SEGA arcade racers of the time and found some other great ones like Indy 500 or SEGA Rally Championship (I did play one stage of the latter years ago but this was the saturn version). Scud Race was definitely alright but it's ridiculously hard, I felt like I was mastering a fighting game lmao.

Man, this kinda blows my mind to see you get in 1st so easily and early and then proceed to utterly spank the AI cars with this version of the Hornet. I gave it a try myself awhile back and tried to gear drift like in Daytona USA 1 (4-2-4) and I kept losing so much speed, the best I could manage on the Beginner stage was 12th. This Daytona USA 1 drift style works for me in Power Edition. But I see your video here and realise I've been playing the BOE Hornet wrong this whole time. Any special tips that you can impart here? First of all, I have been watching your videos and I'm a fan of yours, so it's a pleasure to have you here. Well, the reason you have been using it wrongly this whole time, it's because when you turn the car a bit, it will lose speed. That's why you have been losing speed the eight laps in the Beginner stage with the car. Every single time you used the gear drift, you dramatically lost speed, making the race impossible to win. So, here's a tip for ya, and it's kinda obvious tbh: Just modify the Steer and Suspension performance various times and test 'em to find the appropriate adjustment for you. And if you want to use my ones, then choose any speed, it's more or less the same (Yes, I know they're different but when I play this game, whatever speed I have I play almost the same). And one last thing, with this car, whatever setup you have, please don't do the gear drift, as I said before, no matter what, you'll lose speed dramatically. Hope I helped ya.

How did you get the multiplayer color for it? I used the cheat engine method but it requires you to go back and forth on the tabs to turn a value on/off, your curser is still during it all.

First, in the UI (If you have one, if you don't then go search the one for your version of SuperModel), enable the emulate_net option, then disable MultiThreaded option (If you don't do this, simulated network broad won't work). Make sure that the port_in and the port_out are the same value. Now try changing the game mode to Master and choose any color. Should work. Works on both Battle on the Edge and Power Edition.

Tried it with both disabled, it comes up 'cancelled' when doing the network check. I followed all your instructions.

1971 for BOTE, I used it. And GPUMultithread can be stayed on btw

how did you do that boost at the beginning of the race?

Complicated stuff. Hold the brake at the start of the race. Then try to get the RPM to the yellow zone and once the lights go green, let go the brake. I just got lucky in the video lol

to me, despite the fact that your pretty much topping out at 320kph most of the time, it doesn’t actually feel that bad to me... though i’d guess it’s down to how fast the acceleration is...

If you use this version of the Hornet and tune the first settings to Torque, yes you can
