They actually added a third stage to the cold, there already is a second stage. Really pleased with this update. Happy they’re focusing more on survival which only makes sense because it is a survival game and not a shooter after all. I hope we will be able to craft more clothing items from the animals tho. Imagine how awesome a bear or fox hat would be. Even a bore hat would be great. Would also love to be able to craft "fur coats", especially on Sakhal. Overall, imo, an awesome update. The wipe and patch next week is just the cherry on top. I assume we will get 1.26 and Sakhal mid September which seems to be a great time since it leaves room for 1.27 later in the year.

Remember all those years ago when dayz standalone just came out? They threw away the 24 hour real life cycle because they wanted less hardcore survival....... now 10 years later and they start adding things to help the survival aspect? Can they please fix cars? Can they please fix hackers? Can they please fix the lazy loot spawns? Can they please fix ghost bullets? Can they please fix basebuilding? Can they please fix zombies getting stuck on roof? Can they please fix duping? Can they please fix glitching thru walls? Can they please fix the inability to press a button on your keyboard to report hackers? Can they please fix gates being harder than concrete walls?(in the mod if you drove against a gate with a car the gate would be destroyed and the car would take damage depending on how fast you were going. The standalone cant even do that.) Can they please fix the problems that have been here for more than 8 years?

Having predator meat make you sick is a bit odd, but the long dark does the same, having a chance for parasites from predator meat. Adds to risk in a bad situation

If enough people find a way where the survival aspect doesnt matter anymore the people who play the pvp and the survival aspect are forced to only look at it form a pvp standpoint. What else is there to do? It feels pointless surviving when you know you are only surviving because someone "lets you survive" and not because of your own doing.

Not sure if I like the changes to the cold. It's already ridiculous as it is. Like, you seem to get it from being cold for just a moment sometimes, and it just doesn't make any sense that being cold for a little while should eventually kill you (or make you sneeze NON STOP for ages - who the heck thought that was a good idea?). I like the idea, but I fear it will be exaggerated too much, where you'll probably get pneumonia after like an hour of freezing a little - which is just nonsense.

Absolutely excited for this. Gutted on the infected wolves and bear meat. Relatively geared or not, getting jumped by 3 or sometimes 6 wolves or 1 or 2 bears justifies the meat delivery system as a solo. And if the bears and wolves don’t appear as “infected,” I don’t see how the meat being infected makes any sense. Saying the animals are carriers only sounds like a retcon to me. Hoping the chances for infected meat are insanely low, and that whatever disease comes from it is easily curable. Guess I’ve got to get used to eating multis all the time now, or go pescatarian haha.

They’re actually not. 1.26 stable will release with Sakhal. It’s only so you don’t have to buy Sakhal in order to experience the additions.

In real life it can be a bit odd too, the exception for some reason is bear. Not sure why, but if you want bear meat you specifically have to nail one at the tail and the bottom. Now now scavengers is a different story, that takes desperation and skill not to get sick Now scavengers

It surprises me it's taken this many years to give us a slider for the view/obj distance. No more having to edit the profile file by hand but I am curious how this will effect the server side view/obj distances. Will the server still be able to set its own special max view distance or will that finally go away. Can players still customize the view distance to set it as high as they want (I've already been setting mine to 6km for years for my personal survival server).

The exploit is a dupe where u log with all your gear while climbing a radio tower as high as u can and when you log back in it spawns you on the ground with the backpack dropped but your backpack is still on your back. It’s ruining the servers!!!!

How is it dumb? IRL those animals have worms and all kinds of diseases. Instead of getting a ton a bear steaks you'll only be able to grab 2. Having 8 bear steaks just means you'll never have to worry about food for the rest of that life lol

@@blackcraft3465 Yes, and cooking it to at least 171 degrees gets rid of it. Plus, no that's not what it means because 8 bear steaks would take up 32 slots and nobody is going to carry it. All this really means is if a group of 2 or 3 or more kills a bear, a whole bear might not be able to feed all of them. That's why it's dumb.

It’s only the predator meat that will be infected. Wolf meat is already trash for nutrition value and bears are rare to find. Just hunt deer wild boars and all the other animals in the game. We got foxes and hares now as well.

There will most definitely be a wipe when the new map comes out. You run into coding issues whenever old inventories are conflicting with new items. So to remove that issue they always do a wipe.

Wolves and bears not giving meat anymore is a disaster so is the massive inventory reduction. Hunter vest is down to 16 slots, improvised backpacks are down to 30 slots. Seems like the heatwave in central europe has fried their brains actually. If these changes go live I will quit the game. There's a fine balance between challenge and tedious and they are about to nuke that balance. Nobody is talking about the new map anymore 😂 good job Bohemia. Way to kneecap yourself.

Since we talkin about interesting new mechanics - maybe this might be a dumb idea to some but I always thought the showers in military barracks, fire stations etc were underused n could add an interesting game mechanic. What if u could use the showers to get a quick heat buff. The downside would be that u would have to strip off all clothing n other items otherwise they'd make u wet thus canceling any heat buff. Also, u would be briefly vulnerable when showering as an animation would take place while you acquire said heat buff. Is this a viable idea or am I prematurely high from the edibles I plan to have later on tonight?

As I started dayz there was no option to actually make bone knifes. So it was way more difficult in the beginning. Dayz vanilla as it is these days, isn’t really a survival challenge. Food and medicine is never a problem. With map knowledge clean water isn’t a problem as well. It is too easy in fact. I wish they will also change the dwells, so that there is a 30% chance or something to get infected if you drink without boiling the water. Visiting hospitals would be more important then.
