As an experienced DayZ player the best advice I can give is learn from each death. You will die a lot until you learn the fundamentals of the game.

Noob streams are the best. A lot of people look back on this as their happiest time. Finally changing your shirt only to leave your bandages behind.

Felt the pain lol, was almost like my first times (8000 hours in). Few tips for the lady: Hold right mouse and walk backwards to block the attacks then left click to attack (hold shift for a power attack). The cheese is a bandage lol put it in your hand (lower left shows you what you can do) and hold left click to bandage (too much blood loss your dead) Also press TAB to see your pockets and caps lock to talk to other players. This game can be very rough and may take many hours to master. This should get you started! Now loot up and start surviving. Good luck survivor!

Tough game for newbies, can be really fun. You can block and walk backwards to avoid damage from zombies, and can also close doors on them to trap them in buildings. Find some food under fruit trees, but expect to die a lot.

He hates how easy it is to get humbled by DayZ and other players (and often your own klutziness), how janky and still buggy it can be in a lot of ways... but he loves it for the amazingly great and unique experience that it is, and has been for a very long time. Nothing else out there is quite like it.

Hope you watched a couple 'DayZ for total newbs' videos on youtube afterwards, once you know at least the rock bottom basics, it starts to get a lot easier.

The Dayz story arch. You watch other people vids, go this is a cool game, pay the high price tag then curse yourself for wasting the money, hate the game, quit the game, then eventually put in the time to learn it, and end up getting addicted to it. It's like a drug or a bad relationship, you don't why but you keep coming back😂

Sometimes it takes revisiting a game again to try and learn it. I would recommend starting in a PvE server so that you don't have the threat of PvP yet. Some PvE servers are modded to be noob friendly so you can learn how to play the game easier, they will start you off with enough food when you first spawn in. You'll still have the zombie threat, so just focus on practicing your melee combat on 1 zombie to get a feel for it so you can defend yourself when needed. Make sure to climb on top of stuff so that the zombies can't reach you but you'll still be able to reach them and can kill them without being attacked.

Oh thats so interesting! I’m going to hope on one of these servers for one of my videos. Definitely better when you don’t have to worry about randomly getting sniped. I did hop on some other servers and noticed some give you food like an Apple when you first join compared to others.

@@clarasnowy_ Awesome! Yeah, don't go too hard on yourself. This game is very challenging to learn by yourself and it's even harder to learn in a PvP server where players can also be D-bags for no reason. A PvE server will definitely be less stressful to learn and the players are much more friendly in PvE servers since they are just there to have a good time and not take the game serious, so you can find some nice people to help you out if you run into anyone.

Best thing about this game is there is no rules. Once you are able to survive you can do anything (that the game allows) also dont so pve servers. Learn the game at its worst

Maybe try other fps games first? Dayz is kind of a hardcore survival game. Its fun though once you learn the game. Find a friend to play with
