Just adding something to this if people are having trouble with the mod not working you need to publish the mod a second time cause of the dayz publisher bug.. Another thing 4:10 in the vid you copy Only the name you named it and replace the whole name onto the downloaded mod from Josie in the P drive no need for the @ Only reason i point those out is because that is the issues i got lost on... 😬😬 But i love your work my dude.. Just trying to help.. 🤑🤑💯💯

in p drive just have mod name, in your local server(or whereever you pack your mod) the mod folder that will be uploaded to steam, that folder does need the @. both same name, project folder no @, mod folder yes @ ;)

Few things that stood out to me... 1:10 - "Compiled in to a drive" not really how it works, the game files are extracted to a folder which is linked to a virtual drive. No compiling here. 1:55 - Arma tools is not needed IMG2PAA comes with dayz tools, although it works the same way. 2:06 Images do not need to be 2:1 but all dimensions do need to be a power of 2 e.g 1024x1024, 1024x512 etc Ideally you want your images to be 2048x2048 at all times so that any resolution when up close can fill the viewport and not look pixelated (1920x1080 is the most used res) but if you don't use fully square textures sometimes you might need a rectangle the only thing that is important is that the x and y are both a power of 2. 4:08 you don't really need the @, not sure why dayz has done this but using "p:\addons\myaddon" works just as fine for client and server. 7:42 audacity is a great free opensource DAW for making ogg files. 10:07 this is bad practice, while it works you should generate a EDDS file in the workbench. 12:44 Addonbreaker should be illegal, mikeros tools is the way esp to find errors. Great work survivor.

Some very good points, some of these I didn't learn myself til later down the road. As far as verbal video without a person in the corner to feel engaging, I try to keep everything as fast and simple as possible, featuring free software that most are familiar with. I see that some of those entries deal with the loading screen location, which is cool, but there's even more stuff below that. I can't get the slideshow and music to work. Question: would this work for a console server? I own a PS one, and know for a fact that modding is limited for consoles, BUT I've actually gotten a cannabis mod working for my PS server - seeds, the plants actually grow and you have to harvest them from Growing plots. Ferting them is useful for fast growing, but the flower is used as FOOD on my server, and decreases hunger, and hydration core values.

@@Chiwulf that's not a mod, the pot is just a vanilla item that's in the core files thus console can access. But no, console can't have "mods" just Json add-ons and the few types that can be added back into economy.

I already have a working load screen with a music track but I need to change the track to another ogg. file, will I have to repack another pbo, re-sign and then republish? Can't just overwrite the ogg. copy paste as the original is part of the signed pbo.

@marcusaurilius5127 It's hard to know specifically what and where went wrong, but I know several using this, and I also use this, only thing I found issue was the main cutscene where player stands only works on vanilla maps with my template, all the rest works universally, even get the music loading into editor if using the mod

@@Quitarman100 after you packed your version of this template, did you check your bin log? When you pack a mod, in your p drive is usually a temp folder, it should have some logs that can help direct any errors to narrow where the issue may be in your mod

you dont change a paa to an edds, you change a tga to a edds, i use gimp, when i save i name it a .tga, then rename it afterwards to .edds

Im using 2x1 ratio format at 8bit color depth, but the converters still say they must be 2x1. I seem to have better luck if images are really small, like 128x128 but thats it. Any tips? Thank you
