For beginners, my absolute best recommendation is that you find warm clothing (high or best insulation, it will say when you hold a piece of clothing in your hands). Because if you are warm, then your hunger depletes slower so you dont need to eat as often. Pea coat is a great coat to keep you warm. You can wear a balaclava or a ski mask PLUS a beanie on your head to keep you warm, gloves are good, or some pants with medium insulation (really hard to find pants with high insulation). Find a knife, and a shovel. Find a vegetable. Use the knife to extract the seeds from the vegetable (use the knife to combine it with veggie, and then "extract the seeds"). If you find a pack of seeds, you dont need to extract other seeds from veggies. Find a house you want to spend some time at, use the shovel to dig so you can grow your vegetable. Once youve dug out a place to grow veggies, take the seeds and plant them there. The most filling veggie is the pumpkin, but the best one according to me is the zucchini as it will fill both your hunger and thirst for long. If it rains, the plants will grow. Otherwise you can pour water over the seeds you planted. Wait a little bit, and then you can harvest the veggies and eat them. They will fill up your hunger and your thirst. This way you will survive longer. Try not to run at night as its colder, try not to run high up in mountains as its colder. To light a fire in a house, you need bark (you get it from trees by using a sharp object), and you need short or longsticks (use something sharp to cut bushes). The more of these you put in the open fire inside a house, the longer the fire will burn. You need something to light the fire on fire though, like matches. If you dont find warm clothing, you will die fast. Dont go for what clothes looks the best, but go for what clothes will keep you the warmest. Its about surviving, after all. There are apple trees scattered around the map, mostly in towns and cities, sometimes you find fruits under them. Zombies tend to either have equipment or food to eat if you kill them. Dont kill a zombie with your knife, and then use the same knife to cut a pumpkin into slices. That will most likely get you sick. Good luck! If you are playing on PS4, go to official server 2530 on page 2 and head for Olsha, I have grown so many veggies there. Behind one house there are seven plantations, and north of Olsha (30 seconds away) there are more than 11 plantations. At the entrances/exits in a town, there is a sign saying the name of the town. Use this iZurvive map to see where you are on the map. Olsha is north east for example. You will most likely spawn down south or on the east coast. dayz.ginfo.gg/

1 thing I really hate with this game is everything feels over complicated. Any other game you hover item, press button to consume/equip. DayZ its follow this 20 step program to eat a banana.

It's definitely not for everyone my guy! It takes a more realistic approach. Need to load your gun? Make sure you load the mag first, need to eat? You need to open or have the right tools to do so. It's all about patience and skill. I personally love these types of games but it might not be for everyone

Yeah sure! you can use many bandages in the game that stop you bleeding. The simple one is RAGS. Just equip the rag in your hand and hold R2 to begin to apply it. But make sure the rag is not worn/damaged. You can tell by the colour of the dot. DO THE TUTORIAL FIRST! lol

Yeah it still is! Like I said at the beginning try a community server for better loot. But! If you want to stay on official you gotta move inland more to find better loot like guns. City's. military outposts. Police stations. Locations like that. You can find shotgun and pistols in small towns but they are always looted 90% of the time. Also you can hop on fresh wiped official servers to! Good luck my guy!

Great question dude! Appreciate it! So I actually think you should be okay with zombies? Sneezing and coughing definitely can be heard by enemy players, and your teammates. So It can get annoying. definitely if your trying to sneak up on squads! As long as you stay a good few feet away from the zombies you should be good. I've been sick a few times but I don't think it changes the situation with the zombies? If they can, a good 20f from the zombies should be okay :)

It depends what server my guy! Official can be brutal. Especially the players! But alot of community servers have safe zones and the players can be very helpful! Community is learning the easy way without feeling like you want to die.. haha good luck!

Building equipment depends on different locations and zones. Best to is to learn the map to so you know where all the great loot is! You'll definitely love Community severs! Haha can be tricky! I can mostly identify where I am by certain landmarks. Colour and hight of trees. Things like that. If you can really pin point your location go to any small town or road sign and type in the weird name. And it will tell you where you are. Then if you have a compass you will know North is top left of the map ect. It really is a HUGE map lol

You definitely got to know what to look and where each loot is. Like food in village and towns. Ammo at outposts and watchtowers and military bases. Ect. As soon as you know where and what to loot it gets alot easier! Also if yhe map is not downloaded it won't work? Make sure its fully complete and you should have no problems?

Yeah they still are! Definitely harder on console. Controls are so clunky but you do get used to it. Since I got my PC its So much better on there. The console did do a pretty solid version for new players checking the game out. Unfortunately it still needs alot of work! Thanks man!

The fact that you promote community servers with 50x loot to start is a joke!! Anyone new needs to learn DayZ on vanilla/official servers. Hardcore is the way to go not having 50x loot to spoon feed babies.

Well i totally disagree.. and so does alot of the people here. the game is So broken. Its not like this on the PC version so why should the console version be so empty. I don't enjoy spending 5 hours looking for food or a stick, when I can be building bases and using weapons that the game intended. Like dayz it doesn't like to hold your hand and show you how and where everything is. You learn everything yourself giving you a great experience with situations along the way. That's why Dayz is one of my favourites. The player base definitely shows it. If you think downloading an app with small memory space is "annoying" then don't download it? Just play the game as intended

I had no idea the community servers offered higher food spawns. I've owned DayZ on both PS4 and Xbox for quite a long while and never knew. Laid back but fun, great viewers, and his personality is not over the top. Makes sure the game is immersive and the focus. No playing music in the background, etc. I'm not trying to push him like he's a friend or something; he's got a ton of viewers, and I don't know the guy. It's just good content. Thanks again ^_^

One more tip I see no one talking about is off grid bases. I have 4 tents an several barrels in the woods. I have no fence guarding it an for a year now nobodies found it. Your fenced in bases are literally eye candy for guys like me. Having a off grid base gives you a higher chance at survival. Hiking out can be a pain but knowing you have security is worth it.

I don't understand, I just bought the game a couple days ago and it seems like the food on the official servers is still broken. Plus, finding a knife or even small stones is almost impossible. Hey dude haven't played the PS4 version in a while! Unfortunately I had the same problem. Player bases can cause more lag at times but looking back comparing the ps4 to pc its crazy how laggy and frameraty it was. Its just the Console hardware. Sadly the cpu gets overwhelmed. When I switched to pc the difference is night and day! Highly recommended if you love dayz the PC version is 100× better. Good luck man

Console servers are better now!!! The loot on shore line servers are rarer just because of all the fresh spawns but if u can make it inland ull be fine!!! But don’t play this game on just boosted servers it destroys your experience of the game! If vanilla servers are the real experience of the game! Yes, you’re going to die a shit ton from starving and players and all kinds of shit. That’s the point! Eventually you’ll learn over time what to do and what not to do and you’ll start figuring it out and learn the spawns and locations and you’ll start living longer and longer to the point u enjoy the game

Loot also instant taking hours to spawn anymore if u spawn and loot a town on the shore and there’s nothing ur going to die running to next town log out and come back 10 mins later and start looting again trust me…. I did it 2 times and pick up everything u do fine and drop it somewhere random so something new respawns and find food! I played looting a big city on coast only found one can of food and a soda and a jacket I logged out came back 15 mins later looted it again and found more food and a water bottle and a crowbar and was able to actually go inland and then after that it was gravy! Official servers are the funnest server to play on once u survive because community servers are so damn easy it’s no longer fun! It’s more just pvp game play! That’s no fun it’s a survival game! If you lose the risk of making one mistake and dying then it’s not fun anymore! That hard survival is a huge part of this game and once you make it inland and start getting gear it’s such a great feeling! And devastating when you get killed or die but that’s part of it then you gotta grind again! It gives you risk reward concept!

Please give the game on official servers and don’t give up quickly because I promise once u die so many times due to mistakes you learn tons about how to survive and that’s the best part! Because then you’ll eventually be able to fresh spawn and survive because you know what to do and where to go and how to do it! It’s going to take 15 or 20 hours to figure it out sometimes more but that’s what gives u so much to do! If u go to community ull be bored in an hour… That rare loot is what makes it fun because you have to think about your next move and learn to be quick or die and making one mistake and your dead! Once you learn and can survive you’ll get a really good feeling of completion!

Just like making a mistake by drinking from a bottle u drank from while sick and get sick again… That means dead! If you drink from a well with bloody gloves you can get sick! It’s things like this that are a big risk and can make a mistake doing and die from it you then learn from that! And if ur on a community server and are able to get meds and pills on a constant you’ll lose that risk reward concept! Because u don’t learn from the mistake at a great risk! Because once u make that mistake! And die you’ll never make that mistake again’ if you do that with a constant medical benefit from high loot servers you’ll never pick it up

Yeah and the saddest part is when your knife gets ruined and you only have 1 knife.. (or sharp object) I always carry 2 knifes and sometimes when I find a can opener I still keep 2 knifes... its great for bushes/hunting and killing zombies... I always have 2 and its really helpfull because they always break at the worst moments😂

Hey nice video. Is it possible for me to make my own private server and only have my friend join? As in me and one other person and that's it. Because I do not get on well with others, but this game seems like fun. Although its very unrealistic in terms of food. Like i can never find food and i die way too quickly. They need to fix this in the next update. I just want me and my friend to have access to my server only. Is it possible? Also, I feel like my mic dont work. Hey dude sure! You can actually buy severs every month. Like your renting them for only $4:90! Probably around £4 in the UK so its your own private sever with a code! Check it out online and see what you can do man! Also the mic situation? I would just get somone to check in game with you and see if they can hear you? If It doesn't work, its most probably the mic thats broken. The push to talk and the in game chat for DAYZ Console actually works really well. Let me know how you get on dude? Glad to help!
