@@ParmyBaddhan hi. interestingly well done. please enlighten, how to cut two parts in one piece of clothing, costumes, and other types. for example, you take dresses, cut out two in one clothes, save them in the folder data - people - clotting, after saving there will already be an outerwear top or football, and underwear is a skirt. how to do this in the geometry tool on screen the daz studio? thanks.

MYDART Yes, my biggest irritation with Daz3D is the lack of current documentation. Daz3D includes so many features that most of us don’t even know about, let alone understand how to use! 🤦♂️

This was a great video. Very informative. But do you have a video on how to add on or morph clothing? For example, if I had a short sleeve t-shirt but wanted to turn it into a long sleeve t-shirt, how would what I do that? I am a new to this and still learning so any help would be appreciated. I am still going through your entire catalog now. So thanks for all you do.

Probably the best Daz tutorial on youtube, one question tho, I tried to set up boundary or floor girds for my geometry objects as floors & walls as domstrated in your video, but I can' t seem to find the dang geometry editor when i select my primitive, not with right click nor anything else. my goal is to my many different level floors where all my figures and just ctrl+d and stand on the surface right away.
@ParmyBaddhan4 жыл бұрын
There is a bug in Daz Studio regarding this. After a random amount of time you can't select a primitive with the geometry editor tool. I think you have to save your scene and the close Daz Studio and load the scene up and the geometry editor will start working again.

Do you have to save after creating surface from selected material?
@ParmyBaddhan3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. You will have to save the clothing item as a figure/prop asset. This can be found in file-->save as-->support asset-->figure/prop assets. Make sure that you character is in the zero pose and on the origin point before you save the clothing item as a figure/prop asset.

Question, I'm trying to apply body-hair to a character, and said character wears armbands, when I apply the hair to the body, it is also applied to the arms so you see hairs poke through the armbands i have on her, I tried to use Geometry Editor to hide the Polygons and it did work, except after i saved and reloaded the file the next day, the hair was back. Hiding Polygons apparently does not save, how do i resolve this?

Hi Parmy, I hope you're fine. I'm a game developer working with Daz, and I have a problem that nothing seems to fix, and I thought maybe you had an idea. How do I hide those seam lines I get on certain parts of my genesis 8 body when I render with Iray?
@ParmyBaddhan3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Are you using spectral rendering when rendering with iray?

@@ParmyBaddhan Can't believe it, it was that simple? I took it off and it got rid off those seam lines. I was afraid it was going to affect my quality, but I can't seem to notice a difference. Thanks for taking the time to answer me!

what if I want to separate the top of the cube, so when I load it I can show or hide it, like if it was a different mesh?
@ParmyBaddhan5 жыл бұрын
You will need to create a surface for the top of the cube and then you can hide that part of the mesh by changing the cutout opacity in the surfaces setting to 0.0001

Sorry, you can't use the Geometry editor with geoshells because geoshells don't have any geometry. I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve, if you can elaborate then I will able to point you in the right direction so you can reach your desired goal?

I like these more advanced tutorials. I was trying to find an in-depth tutorial for strand based hair. I never manage to get it working correctly. It always sticks to the skull or is in a weird shape...

Crap, I wasted so much time doing this in Sketchup and then importing it into Daz.
@ParmyBaddhan3 жыл бұрын
You didn't waste anytime. You found an alternative solution that worked for you. The geometry editor tool has limited functionality compared to dedicated 3D modelling software such as Sketchup. Now you have 2 options (Sketchup or DS Geometry Editor) to get your desired result.
