I have made a microprocessor controlled router lift with one. Initially controlled by a Raspberry Pi touch screen and Arduino as part of a larger project. Now separated out to a dedicated router table. Controlled by a Pi Pico with a rotary encoder controlling a menu shown on a 16x2 display. A duel relay board switches the up/down commands in presets of top, bottom, up/down 10mm , 1mm , and 0.25mm steps.

There is a lot that can be done with Raspberry pi and Pico but that this is somthing I have not gotten into.

I am currently retro fitting one to my Eastwood Bead Roller. Making the stand first then going to buy a foot peddle and some timing chain gears from the junk yard. Should work like a charm

Used one as a hoist or crane/ lift in my garage.. you can remove the limit switches and hook it to a screw style acme thread rod with a spool on it and the one i used will lift well over 1000 lbs before the joists i got it mounted to start making noise.. wouldnt trust being underneath it with a load on it too much but it lifts my lawn tractor right off the ground.. ran the controls to an old gate lift switch handheld deal.. cheap and strong..

Yep lots of uses. My other video on these motors goes over removing the limiting switches and modifying them for other applications. Really the only limitation is the duty cycle.

I have a least 6 of them. Lol Never threw them away cuz I figured eventually I would find a use for them.

I don't have as many of them as I do drive motors. When I was scrapping the treadmills I had not yet figured out how the incline motors worked and had limited space so most of mine went away but, that is a mistake I will not make in the future.

Hi, I'm doing a wood lathe conversion. I don't want to use the height adjustment motor but the treadmill has an error code for the position sensor when I unplug it. Is there a way to hack it into believing that it's still plugged in? Thanks for your help

Yes, remove the potentiometer from the incline motor and reconnect it to the main board.

Power lift for a bench top milling machine would be my thought...disconnect micro switch..remove shaft machine down for a bushing ...sleeve to mount on shaft of mill again just a thought

I have done exactly that on my mill! kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3m4pXWEmKqjfpo

@dazecars ill check that out seems right the amount of torque they put out...would make people stop asking why's left arm bicep bigger than right

@@miguelcastaneda7257 It's the corect amount of torque and its the perfect speed. I am very happy with the upgrade

Hi there, Great advice on this video! I have a Pacemaster Platinum Pro VR 120v treatmill with a noisy incline motor. I took it apart to lube it... but on reassembly, the potentiometer that senses screw position is not working properly. Is there a reliable way to fix this (other than trying to buy a new one from the US - I'm in Canada). I tried to reinstall it in the neutral position (jacked up the end of the bed to a zero degree incline and adjusted the screw to that position but the system only works for a while, then sticks at the extreme position and gives an incline error. resetting the machine takes care of it, at least initially. Is there a reliable way to set this up so that the potentiometer is within limits?

I am not a treadmill repair guy so I am not sure the "correct" way to fix it, but here is how I would do it if I was making the attempt. (try at your own risk, I am not an expert) I would pull it apart and remove the potentiometer I would then turn the motor to the point where the on off cams are 1/2 way between the two switches. In other words what 1/2 total height adjustment. then I would set the pot to 1/2 of its rotation, reinstall it and see if it works properly.

@@dazecars surprisingly, my pacemaster doesn't have limit switches but I'm going to try something similar! TNX for the response!

I wonder if you can use it to open a drawer automatically. Like a large drawer full of hidden items like a spy movie or perhaps just lift a television from its cabinet like the ones at the foot of a bed.

I think if setup correctly it would be well suited for either of those things

Are all incline motors AC? What do I look for in a quality incline motor? Your video got me to thinking. 😂 Thanks, Paul
@dazecars

all the ones I have seen are AC. The first thing to look at is the duty cycle. A better motor will have a better on to off ratio. A lot of them will also have thrust specs with more thrust being better. Lastly size matters, as a general rule the bigger the motor the better it will work.
