wow, this was fun....I have lived in Seattle my whole life, and I got to see Kurt Cobain perform at a local lil dive in Covington Wash. LONG before Nirvana... no one knew who he was, and him being the godfather of grunge, people didn't know what to do with this new music style...the crowd was very divided... they either loved him or hated him...lol! thanks for sharing this incredible lil ditty of history! love and hugs from seattle

Kurt was looking out for me I'm pretty sure... When I was in college I got a Nirvana SubPop split 7 inch and really dug them so I got Nevermind as soon as it came out. Since then I moved to LA and have lived in this neighborhood for over 15 years. The other day I walked by there for the first time. It was a very rare cold, rainy dreary LA morning. Much like it is in the Northwest most days I imagine. I wasn't expecting much, just figured I would wander by since I had the time during lockdown. Once I got there I saw something I had been looking for for a few days. My music studio is a couple of streets away and was flooding due to the rain. On the curb, waiting for trash collection were those black drainage pipes behind you. Just what I needed! I like to think he left them there for me :) Definitely felt his spirit while I was there. Thanks for the video!

At 4:19 you can see where Courtney wrote above the fireplace "Best friend " according to the infamous 1992 Vanity fair magazine article Courtney said she wrote that after her and Kurt had a big fight to remind him that he was still her best friend. Interesting to see the real photos. Also in the picture of Kurt in the apartment you can see all the plastic baby dolls on the shelf behind him which was also described in the vanity fair article. The article compared their apartment to a typical drug den and I must say they were right.

I know a lot of people say Kurt wasn’t an addict at this time, just a recreational user, but if you ever been into the needle and the spoon, you would know heroin isn’t a drug you IV over the weekend and just quit. Even a few days use you will have some residual withdrawals, and cravings if you have nothing to do. In Kurt’s case I can guarantee you he was more than a recreational user at this time, especially with the money he had, not much to do, and no one to answer (job, family). I just think he wasn’t shooting himself up into oblivion as Courtney described Kurt’s habit in 94, when he was due to go to rehab. Maybe he was a recreational user, I just don’t know people who can put it down after a few days, usually a few days result in a bender, maybe with a day or two clean between uses.

I think the reason why Kurt and his wife rented the house on the hill is because both of them had a heroin problem and they just wanted to hide that fact .it's the only thing that makes any real sense.
