I bet my Dad would have loved to see that hotel! He passed just this past February 28. I miss him very much. He loved western movies and he and I had watched a few together last summer when he and my mom were visiting. Anytime I see anything about western movies or the old west makes me think of my Dad. Thanks for letting me tag along once again! Keep on being you, Jordan! 🦴🐾♥️

We stayed at The El Rancho a few years ago after Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. We absolutely loved it. We extended our trip to Gallup for the flight at Red Rock. After we packed up the balloon we hit the road and headed back to Atlanta. Beautiful place out there. Absolutely gorgeous. My bucket list is Route 66, start to finish. Thank you for the Awesome Video!

What a fun video, Jordan! Really enjoyed it! Loved the El Rancho Hotel decor, especially the movie memorabilia, Tom Mix movie poster and the elevator. I did note that the hotel plaque has Katharine Hepburn's name misspelled. She definitely would not have appreciated that. The Route 66 roadside stops were great along with the dinosaurs (you need one of those out by your pool to keep Jah company). But what a shame that Fort Courage has been vandalized and the property owner hasn't cleaned it up. My mom and dad took us kids through Kingman and some of the other AZ stops in the 1950s...looked a lot different then. Looking forward to binge-watching some of your recent vids which I missed. Take care of yourself!

Loved it all, thanks Jordan the Lion. In real life Carol Lombard was close personal friends with Lucille Ball. Lucille was devastated at Carol's death. When Lucille Ball was offered the part of I Love Lucy, she said Carol came to her in a dream and told her it would be a hit show. Lucy took the advise from the dream and excepted the role. She often said on talk shows in the 70s and 80s that she owed all her fame to Carol Lombard. She also said that Carol would come to her in dreams and advise who to hire as charactors on I Love Lucy. Wild stuff, but true.

My Parents and Grandparents have been Route 66 lovers for a long time, and luckily, I inherited that love as well. East Coasters... but my Wife and love to get out there once in a while, and treasure hunt for these great old places. Sad. Nostalgic. And strangely beautiful. It is so important to see it - and keep it alive. We'l be taking our Girls out there soon, to get them in that mind-set as well. Route 66 is wonderful. And amazing and pure American experience, and treasure!

It takes MONEY to upkeep and not let places like this El Rancho go to seed. I have been there and locals and old timers are so grateful for the way owners have loved this and spent what was necessary to preserve it for us all!!!Too many neat places are no more on Route 66

We stayed at the El Rancho last year (actually a year ago today!) and Loved it! We stayed in rhe John Wayne room. The lady that worked in the famous gift store was so sweet, especially to my youngest daughter who found her missing scissors. Lol she ended up giving her chosen souvenir for free since she found her scissors that she couldn't find all day.

Hey Jordan, great trip through New Mexico & Arizona. Just love all the folk art, old gas stations and signage. I am old enough to remember almost all those celebrities on the motel walls. Some great memories. I get sad thinking about what happens to these places. Many of the younger people like my niece and nephew have no idea who these people were. Thanks for keeping their memories alive. PS I think you should have bought one of the giant dinosaurs for your place. I think Jah would love a new friend to play with. 🐶🐶🐶

This brings back childhood memories, thank you Jordan. I remember there were so many tourist traps, many stops for rock collectors . My sis & I age 4& 5 were checking marks and other exciting things,on our new note books how many Native Americans we could find, if I remember correctly there seemed to be people sitting outside of their little shops in New Mexico & Arizona. It looks like the trading posts have AC and not many people around like the old days.
