When I first moved to LA from Ohio, I ended up moving into the Harvey apartments because the place I had lined up caught on fire. It was the cheapest/last minute option outside of a hotel for me at the time. The night that it all happened, I heard some noises from the hallway (not anything new) but this time I decided to go check. Once I walked down to the lobby where the mailboxes are located right inside the front door I could see a man and a bike frumped over a set of 3 steps and was quickly stopped by the landlords minions. Because I was outside of my apartment they told me I had to evacuate the building. I ended up having to do interviews with good morning America and all of the local news. Keep in mind, this is 1 week after I packed up to move there. Because of the time zone difference I had received a ton of phone calls from friends and family leaving me voicemails asking why am I on national news a week into leaving my home state. 😂 The first thing one of the reporters told me was “welcome to L.A. You’ve been christened.” And laughed as if any of it was normal. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Those Apartments have 3 lvl of efficiency rooms to rent and it can be as low as monthly which is why everyone assumes the man who killed himself was homeless. He wasn’t. I passed him the entire week every morning and evening coming and going home from work and he lived one floor down from me. His friends had told me he swore he would off himself before ever going back to jail for something he didn’t do. The police that came that night were only inquiring about his warrant and had no intentions of arresting him they just wanted to make sure he received paperwork in the mail, nothing to do with Ronnie Chasen. However he was so convinced they were coming to take him that he did in fact shoot himself. There are a lot of things that were said that weren’t factual by a lot of weirdos that lived in that building. Your glorious local news tried to bribe me with 2000$ to goto the rooftop and take photos of them bringing out his body. 😩😡👎 I was so taken back by it I thought they were joking but they were dead serious. I kindly declined. Sorry for the long winded rant! There’s just so much that happened that night I had to give you the cliff notes. Stay awesome! I adore your videos and it’s pretty cool we are fellow Ohioans! 🥰👍

Raleigh Studios used to be called California Studios (in the 50’s), Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Have Gun Will Travel were all filmed as well. My mom used to work in the office that was at the entrance of the parking lot, she got to know many of the actors there! Best of all, she met my dad, who used to install the phone lines on the lot. 😇 So cool to see it’s still a working filming lot! So much history, especially if one loves old western shows!

Jethro (Max Baer jr.) was my Aunt and Uncle's backyard fence neighbor, the cement pond "pool" from The Beverly Hillbillies episodes was moved and put into that Van Nuys homes backyard. I was only 11 or so but, I got lifted up to look in at that pool. I love Dearly Departed anything, thank you Jordan and Scott!
