excellent overview of the Fleetwood Mac Tusk' recording days. I've seen a combo of Lindsey/Stevie/Christine/Mick and Fleetwood Mac @40 times since June 1986....worked for Stevie's brother Chris at a few shows selling merchandise in the late 80s/early 90s. What I'm most intersted in knowing about the Tusk year were some of lindsey's recording techniques....heard he recorded parts of his songs in the bathroom at the studio.

Julie Kent Yes!! Art is the best.. I started listening to Coast when Art Bell was the host.. Then George.. Art is still on the air on Sirius XM, at least he was a year or two ago.. Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis is great too.. Phil was ok.. But yeah, wish we had gotten to go inside the restaurant and saw if George was in there!!

Another cool vlog! I was gonna suggest you do a piece on this property but I couldn't remember the address or the name of the recording studio. I spent many evenings in the lecture hall (2nd floor, SM Blvd end of bldg) where Charlie Lutes conducted advanced meetings for TM meditators. Charlie was Maharishi's right hand for many years in the early days. I don't recall when Charlie stopped using the building... probably late '80s. Would occasionally see bands including Fleetwood Mac entering the studio portion of the bldg when I was there for TM stuff. Thanks, Jordan!! Great memories.
@DazewithJordantheLion7 жыл бұрын
+donbvs im actually syrprised i havent hadnt anybody tell me im wrong, and that the beatles never meditated there.. or that it was never a meditation center. Thanks for confirming
@donbvs7 жыл бұрын
+Daze with Jordan the Lion That building was used for TM activities for close to three decades. Last time I was there was 1988 and it closed shortly after that. But I don't know that any of the Beatles ever visited. George visited the TM / Ayurved Ctr when it was in Pac Pal but otherwise, I'm not aware of any of them coming around. Hope the owner invites you in for a walk-thru! That would be very cool. So much great musical history made there. I'd love to see footage of the old lecture hall... if it still exists.

I was working at a record store when Tusk dropped. I remember hearing the stories about the excessive behavior and turmoil. and that was before the internet! And evidently most of 'Joe's Garage' was recorded at the Village as Zappa was still finishing construction on his infamous Utility Muffin Research Kitchen home studio. Great album(s). If walls could talk, ..! Another great vlog, Jordan!

Really cool 😎 Fleetwood Mac, Smashing pumpkins, and Weezer were my soundtrack freshman year of high school🤓 I actually met Weezer when they released Pinkerton at the old tower records in Hollywood when Matt was still a member. They put on a free show, it was Amazing!!! I even ditched school 😂 I got in trouble but it was so worth it. I'm also a huge Huell fan, RIP😔I grew up watching California's Gold when I was a kid and I still watch reruns to this day. It inspired me to explore as an adult and appreciate the history and beauty in all things.I don't vlog beacause I am way too shy. Which brings me now to your channel. I enjoy the content so much I can't say it enough!!! Thanks for doing what you do👍🏽
