Thanks for this Daz. Got one of these arriving tomorrow...appreciated you taking the bottom off to show off the upgrade options. I'll be popping a Crucial mx300 m.2 in there, and changing out a bigger backup hard drive and upgrading the wireless (from my current laptop). -chrisk(hwc)

Yikes, a 17" "tablet" (when folded) must have felt quite unweildy at times... It's surprising that such a consumer laptop is quite upgradeable, given the recent trends in such devices. Great review :)

I'm glad to see this I have the nivdia mx250 it's not insufferable it's also paired with the Intel i7 66 something but I wanna do some gaming with some higher graphics on older games 😂 it doesn't do bad but it just made me wonder if I had a upgrade in the future

What's the strongest graphic card upgrade this can fit? Is there only a set few for this laptop I have the 32gb.

Hi there, Few weeks ago I suddenly got a Message "Hard Drive not installed" on my Dell Inspiron 17-7000(7778) (i5 processor) series and couldn't access Windows anymore, this was after a lot of years of ongoing screen freeze alongside other issues that I had on 2 same Inspiron laptops since day one and have reported to Dell but unfortunately Dell Customer Service and Support have Failed to Address the Issues tell warranty Expiration and then the Hard Drive failure Came, now I would like to try and upgrade to SSD M.2. in Setup and Specifications I found that I can Install One-m.2 drive and One-2.5 inch drive. Is Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 (1TB) or pro seies compatible?, There woulden't be any Bios issues? And is there a limit of storage capacity that my 4-5 Year old Inspiron-17-i5 can handle on both Hard Drives (primary and secondary). Thanks.

You need one with a high processor. Mine has I7-8850u, so 32gb works.

I got the same. And it is very quite. I got the I5 processor with 16gb ram
