Another DreamWorks anniversary this week, this is DreamWorks' peak. And somehow being 20 years later, the effects of Shrek 2 are still being felt now. From pop culture impact, to IP endurance and of course the height of celebrity voice castings, this movie had a whole adventure to being made, and managed to still nail every aspect anyway. It is one of my favourite animated movies of all time. From directing, to writing and all sorts of adult jokes I only recognised later. I’d say it’s hard, but I guess “The Last Wish” would be one of them, mainly because of the whole theme around the literal and figurative aspects of Death, and that it actually had the guts to briefly show blood in one of the earlier scenes.

I’d say it’s their most “adult” film ever thanks to those themes of death/mortality & Puss’ panic attack after Death tracks him down early on in the journey to the star. That movie was just so good

They’re both great for different reasons, but I personally think prince of Egypt is better. Shrek 2 is much funnier and has some great moments, but I like how intense the prince of Egypt can be sometimes.
