Megamind and Metroman are always Friendly Rivals, The Hero always wins against the Villain, but the Villain always escapes and terrorize Civilians, you expect the Hero to send him to a MORE secure prison or just kill him in the spot, but sends him to the same prison when the villain always escapes. From the evidence ive know, Megamind doesnt Kill People, he just creates Crazy Inventions and just terrorize a bunch of people and destroy a few buildings for fun, so that the 'Hero' will join in too to stop him. The Hero very much knows that Megamind is just having Fun, he doesnt kill People, but just annoys them by making up their City Funds (aka building casualties) and lets not forget what makes him a SuperVillain: *PRESENTATION* Thats why Megaming and Metroman exchanges Counter Quotes like Children playing Villain and Hero, Of course Metroman is a very Mature Adult, while Megamind doesnt want to grow up and wants to have fun, this makes up to Metroman's Retirement to become a Person, a Music Man rather than a SuperHero he was born to be. Now.. Lets talk about Hal, he's a Insecure, Obssesive, Incel. Now pair that with Metroman's Dna? He's an actual Villain, no, not a Villain, a Mental God-Driven Asshole, Pair that with his Obsessive and Insecure Nature, you get an Unstoppable Force with no one to stop him with Words. *'Titan'* ,Is NOT playing games.

What’s especially noticeable is how Hal and Metro Man use their powers. Metro was much like superman and was careful not to break anything if he could help it and even added a stylish flare or two. Hal on the other hand cares not for any restraint and rips everything apart just because.
@calsalitra46892 жыл бұрын
Especially considering that Metro Man is practically infinitely stronger than Hal. Metro Man can take a casual jaunt around the city playing with kites, reading books, having an existential crisis, and get back to where he was fast enough for the camera to barely even register he was gone at all. And for all the power that comes from that speed (and also durability) he's about as gentle as a superhero can be. Hal doesn't have even a fraction of the ability that Metro Man does, and all he uses it for is destruction.

I like to think that Metro Man figured Megamind out a long time ago and was only going along with it just because, for a while, it brought some semblance of purpose and enjoyment to the both of them, not just Megamind, and it's because he knew Megamind really wasn't as big a monster and villain that he plays himself up as that Metro Man felt he could risk faking his death so that he could pursue something else that would make him happy. And, along the way more or less force Megamind to realize that, in as much as he loved playing the villain, he's really a much more heroic person than he thinks he is, and up until the point of MM faking his death that, that entire time, it was more of just a game between the two of them.

@@329link nah bruh, anyone over 30 can tell you that if you’ve been in service of others for a long time and not necessarily by choice (as MetroMan states), you burn out. MetroMan’s abandonment of his duties is very relatable. Ask any nurse, teacher, service worker, caretaker, firefighter, etc. Aka jobs that we often refer to as heroes of our society. These are incredibly demanding jobs that are always short staffed for a reason. Self-sacrifice for the greater good is altruistic and all, but failure to draw the right boundaries leads to depression and other mental and often physical health problems. Making selfish choices every now and then is genuinely important to becoming a better person.
@jugemujugemugokonosurikire47352 жыл бұрын
@@329link It wasn't exactly selfish, because there was no initial threat at all. Megamind just wanted a rival like metro man but never wanted to put anyone in danger, which was why roxanne wasn't scared at all. The entire city just never knew the escalating rivalry between megamind and metro man, and just regarded him as a hero, when he never was one.
@justradiclesandco2 жыл бұрын
That does make sense too. For me, I feel that most of his realization comes from the scene where he’s using his super speed. He knows that Megamind isn’t dangerous for sure, but he definitely was caught up in the role he was in and the admiration. From a child to an adult, he can be a little smug at times, and he didn’t think much outside of his role for a while until he really reflected on it. It’s not unreasonable that he decides to become Music Man, and luckily, things turn out fine because Megamind is good at heart. Definitely a big jump to just fake his death and scare everyone though, but while his plan is a bit flawed, it gives Megamind a chance to reflect and do the right thing.

Because thats all they were, rivals pitted against each other by a judgmental society. Titan is angry, deceitful and possessive, he had been since his first scene though his weak demeanor/physique made us unbothered by him. The minute he finds out megamind was the man Roxanne was with, He only sees red, He does not see any true consequences or morality, just anger and resentment.

I loved this line in part because it shows that Megamind is generous, kind, courteous and well-mannered, not what you'd expect from someone raised in a prison. He also expects Tighten to do the same, which reflects how he must have been treated by most people in his life, despite where he grew up. It's also a good sign that he plays by the rules, which indicates someone who has a sense of honor and integrity when it comes to having a code to live his life by. It shows loyalty. I think a really underrated line is when megamind says "I made you a hero, YOU did the FOOL thing ALL by yourself!" I always like those scenes where the character is going so fast they world slows down, but if you really think about it a bit, that means their perception of time is really "slow", so a simple conversation is actually like an eternity. Unless their power is to control their bodies perception of time, so they can run on normal speed, and then hit the turbo button.
@TGPDrunknHick2 жыл бұрын
could be more like reactions. if you've ever caught something falling or narrowly dodged a soccer ball to the face or something, you may have experience something similar. I certainly have before. it's like the adrenalin pumps and you're so much more aware and in that moment the world slows down.
@AdderTude2 жыл бұрын
@@TGPDrunknHick Compare that to Red Rush from Invincible. The world is constantly in slow motion for him because he's so fast. He even says that mere conversation is excruciating because for his perception, people talk very slowly. I also realized that it creates a small plot hole. Red Rush should be very much faster than Omni-Man and yet Nolan caught him easily. It made much more sense in the comics when Nolan ambushed the entire team and murdered them all in the blink of an eye before any of them realized it.
@TGPDrunknHick2 жыл бұрын
@@AdderTude true as well. I believe Marvels Quicksilver has a similar thing and that's actually one of the reasons he's a dick. he's so irritable because of his perception. also yeah plot holes are unfortunately a thing when you adapt things. what works on page doesn't always work properly in animation and that can cause story problems. It was just so nice to have peaks into the realistic psychological features about good and evil. That megamind didn’t actually like winning and missed having something to try and accomplish every day. Metroman grew tired and run down from constantly saving the city and felt trapped to the point of escape. Hal was very human and morally corrupt yet endowed with powers he abused when he didn’t get his way. Mega and metro knowing each other from babies and their good/evil dynamic just being how they spent time together and were good friends in the end is so wholesome.

This certainly subverts the Superman trope better than Brightburn and The Boys did. Though I do compare Snotty Kid to Homelander myself, at least Homelander had some control over his emotions, even if it's to subtly make those closest to him suffer on a deep level. Despite Hal's curly hair and muscular double chin, it's his expressions that brilliantly bring across his unbridled fury.

Imo, the scene that really flips the movie is actually the 'scene' before this, and I would call it "Roxanne's Date". She's working late, and suddenly realizes that Megamind is working on a project called Titan, only for Titan Hal to show up at her door. You get to see the gears in her head start to turn, and we already know that she knows this won't end well, even before she knows it's Hal. Unfortunately for the meathead, her warning about the danger he's in goes unheard, so she turns to the only other person we've seen in her life, 'Bernard'. Even Megamind was too focused on the girl to listen to her warning (about Hal not being the greatest person) and to be fair she becomes very distracted and fails to explain herself once she finds out who exactly she's been dating. Roxanne becomes the linch-pin to the climax of the film, because at this point she's the only character who has all the pieces, just like the audience, so there's literally no way things could've gone any differently than they did because of "Roxanne's Date" scene. It's only fitting then that she plays a critical role in helping Megamind eventually defeat Hal.
