Vegeta as a kid would have ate King Piccolo like a Hot Pocket. He would blast king Piccolo to warm him up and then eat him. It wouldn't even be a fight. I will say Vegeta did brag to Cui about learning how to increase his speed on earth. So I think Vegeta actually got stronger by learning the basics. Vegeta flew around his whole life I don't think running fast actually ever occurred to him before but now he uses it to dodge attacks like Cui's attack.

You mean especially in the original! Throughout the og series he rarely ever gave the men he... Well actually no, he only ever gave the men he was going to kill 1 chance to back away. Which was with only a handful of main villains/enemies. When Tao murdered Upa's father, Goku was dead set to get revenge for him. When he finally gets a rematch with tao, and sees that grenade coming, he intentionally kicks it back at Tao. The Goku we SE as a child is intentionally far different from what Toriyama depicts him as later on wen aged. Honestly it's a decision I'm conflicted with because there's no on screen or on paper justification for Goku's hesitation to kill the Ginyu force, Frieza and eventually Dr Gero (although I know why due to the whole wanting to fight thing but let me get to that). When we get to a more adult Goku Toriyama did away with the aspect of his character that would not hesitate to kill any threats. Take when he killed 2 men belonging to the red ribbon army. They didn't kill anyone as far as we knew, but they were going to rape Bulma, and so Goku even though he arrived without that context of what their intent was, rightfully saw them as being a threat to Bulma's safety and kills them. An adult Goku from any point after Dragon Ball would simply de arm or subdue/knock them out. It gets especially aggravating when it's with Frieza and Dr Gero. Toriyama changed this aspect of Goku's character to tell the stories that he wanted. A younger Goku probably wouldn't have hesitated to kill the absolute majority of threats just like he killed the red ribbon army, nameless enemies and Kin Piccolo. "Oh he's more.. reserve or soft because morality" just excuses to keep certain characters especially villains around for a later story or a later point in the story (not killing Frieza just to have that scene with the counter to his key blast). I love these characters and the stories they're in, but when you notice why they were allowed to live because Toriyama wanted to tell his story, even though it contradicts Goku's mentality when he was a kid towards real threats, then it does stick in your head, this really stays in there bothering you a little bit. Tbh, from a moe practical point of view, I'd rather have Goku murder every single one of his enemies, but what can I do this is what Toriyama wanted.
