Thank you for explaining different upgrade and downgrade scenarios and clearing all concept . i required one more scenario ie downgrade the db2 from 11.1 to 10.5 which is required in my project . please make video on it or suggest the solution on it. Thank you

Downgrade between DB2 version is not direct. You will have to create db2 10.5 instance and restore from the backup that you took before upgrade.

Good work sir. Q1: what if : db2 fixpackinstall failed Q2: what if : db2 upgrade db command failed ? Like physical location increase in new version . ?

The solution is based on what failed. or at what level failed. Upgrade can fail for various reason and hence there is a precheck performed to identify if Database can be upgraded.

hi Subodh, what about a downgrade from 11.5 to 11.1 version ? do you have some notes or a tested procedure ?

You cannot downgrade. You have to recreate instance in V11.1 and restore the database from the backup image.

I always "server" fixpack. It allows me to do fresh install if required.
