Yeah, I just don't consider the game playable as most killers unless you tunnel 1 person down at the start of the game and set up a 3-gen when possible. A 3v1 has some back and forth between killers and survivors who ars a bit competent. A 4v1 generally is too much for the killer.

@@GGarbin Rank 20 new killer here. 38h playtime total. Mostly as survivor about a year ago. Came back, new matchmaking, tried killer, didn't end well. Out of 3 matches only 1 had very toxic rank 1-3 in chat after they obviously won. Other 2 were also against 1-3(and in one match one was a 4!) and one rank 1 apologised in one of these matches. In other all the survivors were nice and gave me tips on how to play killer better so 10/10 would stalk again. Tho I didn't facecamp in all 3 matches I hooked twice. First one I didn't even had time to exit basement when survivor was unhooked. Second time dude just did it so he could decisive me a bit later when they opened the gate...

9 months and all I want to know is how King Ragnar is doing. 2 months since I made this comment, it hurts to rewatch this video. Especially because I’ve been able to be in red rank matches against baby killers and it’s heartbreaking. Now is their 3rd try at SBMM, so far it’s not looking good on the survivor side of things. I went against a baby nurse with one perk, on Raccoon City Police Department map, and they didn’t blink the whole time. On the killer side, it’s kinda 50/50 so far for me because I’m in that sweet spot of purple ranks. BHVR is hiding ranks right now though, so I can’t say for sure, I’m only going off how well I’ve played.

I think people mean ranks dont matter when we consider the extremes, especially red ranks, as anyone who has been to red ranks knows that survivors and killers are not always consistently good at red ranks, even if they are a R1. Of course, these players at least know most the mechanics of the game; the same cannot be said for Rank 20-10, who are generally more consistent in the opposite end: they dont know how most of the game works AND are not good. That is to be expected, with the occasional smurfs.

They FINALLY are testing a brand new skill based match making system that should be implemented by the end of this year. Ranks will no longer determine matchmaking but will instead give you rewards that increase in value the higher you rank. It's about damn time.

Shit's still happening, even if it's not as frequent. Thank you for not picking on the babies. I wish more people would be less shitty to them. I'm Level 14 survivor on average, Level 18 killer. I try to play as fairly as I can without any toxic survivor shit because just a few bad matches as Killer show you what a miserable experience it is. I've opted to just start playing around rank resets because more 15 and under Survivors pop up, so either way I'm usually playing with someone around that skill level. But the fact that I have to do that just to avoid toxic shit and broken matchmaking sucks. I feel worse for the aspiring Killer mains. You know you're going up against a baby when the Hag running Ruin is still trying to attack the generator, because chances are when you were a baby Killer you tried to do the same thing.

I mostly play killer, only started recently, about 20 hours or so in the game and hoo boy, the amount of pallet teabaggers, gate teabaggers and flashlight maniacs is insane. I try not to let it make me mad, but sometimes it's difficult. Thank you for this comment. :) I will say, when I do get a hit with a hatchet whenever I play Huntress, it's really satisfying and is the highlight for me, that I don't mind if I only get like one or two hooks. I always try to look for positives, even when the game isn't going too well and try to stay calm and hope that a survivor will get cocky and make a mistake that I can take advantage of. xD

@@ReptilianTeaDrinker red rank killer here, I’ve got a fair amount of hours my biggest tip is don’t give up, I can win games as lesion or clown (widely regarded as the weakest killers) against high ranking survivors, it only takes one mistake where you down a few of them (maybe 2 or 3) for the game to go from loosing absolutely to not being so bad. As you play more you’ll gain more teachable perks and more experience to know what pressure is good pressure and what pressure is imaginary pressure, please stay with the game and enjoy both of you

Its so interesting to go back and watch how the game use to be. Funny enough, this is actually when I started playing DBD. I remember how rough it was at first, and while my other friends gave up on the game, I kept playing cause I was interested enough in it. And honestly, am glad I stuck around. DBD right now is a game I play almost every other day. The game right now is definitely in a better state then how it was in 2020. Yeah, as a pretty new killer (I've been doing it 3 evenings so far) managed to get from rank 20 to 16 really fast, then the game decides to put me against red ranked players and I find it really hard to pip unless I either decide to use them to farm bloodpoints or focus on the players who can't dodge as well. I know camping and tunnelling is awful and really bad from having experienced it as a survivor so I do try to focus on different people but I can understand why people do it when the matchmaking system is so awful.

i bought dbd cuz of halloween dlc, my first game was with myers, it was +- a year ago, a swf of red ranks completely destroyed me and tbagged me the entire game, the post chat was just guys saying i suck at the game and i should uninstall (could not cuz the time was over, i played the tutorials and spend the time there).The community is just toxic there's nothing we can do about it, i just leave everygame and let them speak alone, or i just call them schizophrenics and then leave. It was sort of the last straw because of matchmaking you rank your killer up to like 20 or a bit higher and the games you go against all the other players have better perks know the maps better and I know stuff from watching demi and other dbd players. And no matter what I'm getting t bagged called the worst. Trash. And being told to kill myself. I suffer from. Anxiety and depression. Just lost my job due to covid-19 and I thought ill play some dbd but it's the same 1 game nice people and about 8 just hate. I went from playing constantly when I'd get home from work to maybe playing one match a day and then calling it quits because matchmaking is so frustrating right now. I'm rank 8 survivor and I keep getting put up against level 20s who are clearly confused about everything. I love how much faith Demi TRIES to give dbd. The developers have NEVER tried hard. No survivors have custom animations, there is a surplus of more or less useless items, they keep stealing killers from pop culture because they genuinely can't advertise their game properly or come up with new sand original killers, there have been no genuine improvements since the game first came out, killers don't even have unique chance music, huntress has one of the very few unique terror radius's. I don't see the appeal of the game anymore. Gave it every single chance I could before matchmaking would stick you from behind. The fact that Demi even still had any shred of hope in this game, no matter his reasoning, is just hard to understand.

At the most basic level, game time should be considered for an MMR system for a game such dead by daylight. It's never been this bad. I'm getting so many consistent rank 20s against my rank 2 killer, it's like they're going out of their way to match us with them. I get it it has to sort everything out from scratch but it's going to be increadabily frustrating for many new players.

Nurse is criminally hard to play, but that's a given. The MM system can screw you over. If you're a R20 nurse facing R20 survivors, then neither one of you know what you're doing. But if you're a R20 nurse and face R1 survivors that are literally Gods, then that's the games fault. It does get hard to have fun sometimes

I was a rank 20 killer who started the game about 1 week ago. Like 2 days in i decided to play killer for the first time. On my second game as Leatherface(I wanted him so i could grind BP for my survivor) i faced a group of rank 10s and 5s and they also kept pallet looping me and flash lighting me. I didn't hit them once and when the game was over they were saying GG EZ and you fucking suck. So much fun... EDIT: Oh yea, and when i told them that i was a noob one of them was like "Dude, GG."

Thank you for making this video its been so genuinely frustrating to play the game on either side. The rank system was really nice before because the matches were fair and i was able to stay at rank 8 or 9. Since the new ranking system my ranks not the best its 15 now and i get paired with rank 1-5 killers. Or as a rank 20 killer (very awful lol) i get paired with survivors rank 1-6. Its awful
