Anyone have any pointers for the 3:00 combo? I see the notation, but, landing that falling light after the 2S is virtually impossible (Though I can pick up off of the same extension if it’s not close to the ground). Feels like there has to be a tiny delay somewhere, or maybe a diagonal super jump that isn’t noted.

Hello. Please, how do you do the first part of the first combo? Where you superdash, press triangle, circle and then able to hit him again as he falls on the ground. When i try it, it does not work. Please explain

The explanation of j.H-5L connection is really difficult. This is just a matter of timing. Hit j.H as late as possible and connect 5L. Depending on the character's hit box, possible and impossible characters are divided. Cell and Broly(z) dummy are the best characters for practicing this.

DopWopBoppyNop yea, they should buff his command grab and his ki blast counter. If you start a combo with one of those, it should take big damage like a 2M. You should also be able to confirm in a super dash after ki blast counter instead of vanishing.

He is low tier. He’s the worst character in the game without question. These combos look great against a training dummy but in a real match, his counters are trash, his shoulder charge has no range, and his infinity rush is very punishable. Long story short, his specials are useless outside of when you’ve already gotten the hit so you’re essentially playing a character that only has normals. Imagine playing ssj goku, but you can’t use his beams, kicks, or teleport punches. That’s playing Jiren.

Whether you were to win or not doesn’t change the objective problems with Jiren’s toolkit, but I’ll walk you through them. @Zetsuron That’s the point. His tools only work against bad players. It doesn’t matter if a bad player is gt goku, bardock, kid Buu. The bad player is still going to make bad mistakes. Against a good player, Jiren is terrible because his tools simply do not work. Shoulder charge: goes through projectiles but has no range, while Cooler’s goes full screen for a full combo Infinity rush: -8 on block...nuff said Projectile counter: Doesn’t work against projectiles from assists unlike Hit and Janemba. On top of that, nearly every character in the game can avoid/punish a correct read from Jiren WITHOUT vanish. If you manage to get the hit, there is no follow up unless you spend a bar...again, unlike other counter style characters. Physical counters: poor reward on a successful read and requires meter. Doesn’t work against assists unlike other counter style characters, and doesn’t activate against armored attacks. Those are Jiren’s tools. The reason why characters like beerus and Krillin are better than him is that even as bad as they are, their tools WORK. Jiren’s just don’t work correctly.
