Its more of a problem that there arent many good neutral assist to pick from. Let alone a good character with a good assist like cell.

It's a problem of both. Arc system made him too op. But Arc system doesn't force every player to use Cell. For example, Kazunokos performance at Combo Breaker and the Summit of Power should say something

And as for the players picking him up, its just about not having characters hinder your skill. Why play a weak character with no options when you can play one with many options. Kaz picks yamcha because his assist is cheap, that man has been a tier whore since day one......and I respect him for it.

I agree with u partly but if u have a character in his own tier isn´t it better getting him down to the next tier. I know that the cycle of circlejerking about characters is endless but I feel like they should stop focusing on nerfing piccolo and start thinking about moderating cell. I play umc3 all the time and I dont complain about the characters there... only about hidden missiles beeing stupid. But in this game Cell really annoys me. I hope u get what I am saying :D

regarding umvc3, most of the top players considered zero as the best character in the game, while morrigan/doom was considered the best shell in the game (by the way, doom's hidden missiles assist isn't invincible). also, nobody considered dark phoenix as the 2nd best character in the game; they considered her the 2nd best anchor in the game.
