DBFZ Patch 1.38 Breakdown: Goku (SSGSS)

The best I can think of for the 6M change is that it lets you space trap your opponents 5L after blockstrings like iad jM 2L5L 4M by drifting to the right range. I managed to make it beat A16 5L and SSJ4 Gogeta 5L in the lab but it feels risky to go for in the current patch.

That's the main reason I dropped him. You have to put on twice the work compared to other point characters. Playing Roshi competitively is stressful already but what helps is that his routes are auto timed so once I get the hit, I get a break. Blue Goku did NOT help at all because this dude stressful 100% of the time. God damn man

Bluku has been left out of the conventional changes because he receives unconventional changes… he’s the only character able to vanish off his L grab. He can whiff the grab and still be safe most of the time. He’s always had the best round start and ridiculous neutral. Hes always had great lvl 3 mix and block string mix. His midscreen damage is the drawback just like basegeta

I think the 6M move is really useful to his mix/pressure kit especially if you have an assist because is so reactable when you delay your combo then 6m you can bait a whiff and go into 2m to punish or even use his new 3s or 214/236s if they try to do something else. Not a great tool and very situational but can definitely help him against mashers and characters with counters to make them hesitate before they just counter out of fear of being punished.

6M's Weird Buff seems to help with Spacing it out as you can wiggle 6M while mid-air, you can make it up to +5 somehow, but it is hard to do.

Dunno if it would have helped him much but I wish 1S, 2S and 3S had the properly of cancelling them by holding down the button like how Nappa can cancel his overhead now. Just thought it would have been cool thats all 😅

I can get behind that bottom 5 vibe. They really told us to play beams 3 patches in a row 🥲 I haven’t taken this game seriously since 2020. But I think it’s time to go even further beyond by random selection any time I’m in a bracket.
