I think both versions suck for different reasons 3.5 had most of the cast non-functional because they literally just lacked half a kit like zamasu current patch has most of the cast non-functional because they don't have proper answers to characters like vegito or 17

I feel like it comes to down screen control and movement. In this patch your rewarded for thinking about your approach. In the current patch they removed that thought process by doubling down on full screen buttons. Also, characters that needed a nerf got buffed and characters that needed buffs got bs. 17 and baby getting a left/right while 21 not getting here’s back for example.

Yup also this patch seems to be less punishing on neutral since normals dont go half the screen and you dont get disintegrated for a random interaction since combos are shorter and tamer

The 3.5 version starts with the addition of Roshi, right? Defensive characters like UI Goku and Roshi are strong in a team because their assists weren't tampered with and UI Goku's anti air wasn't as well. Gotenks' Machine Gun Barrage scaling when linked together hasn't been tampered with either. Also, why are we comparing these versions without adding in the base season 3 version? Remember, both of these versions were doing the 'virus' era meaning games and tournaments need to be played online (without rollback, mind you).

Im gonna keep saying this but if you want a modded version of this game that has good balance, less longrange normals and lariats but still has all of the cast playable and strong, please go play the Ultimate DBFZ mod. Its still being updated till this day and people actively play it.

Im cool with current patch. 3.5 was good too, but not necessarily better than now. Surprisingly enough, I think I was most active until 3.5. Thats when I started getting bored lol. Game is very good now, with rollback.
