You can adjust the amount of therapy provided by the DBS implants. I'm assuming they mean they adjusted his therapy to the ideal amount for him.

Dbs is for you can have a reduced dose of the meds

DBS is not the holy grail to fix all Parkinson’s problems. Bilateral DBS can cause major swallowing, speech, anger issues. Unilateral is lot better if your symptoms are isolated on one side. Highly recommend you read several books about DBS prior to surgery. Guide to DBS by Sierra Farris is a good one. Also, consider rechargeable device to avoid infections during battery replacement surgeries that almost always require complete removal of hardware and redo of entire surgery.
