Listened to thousands of hours of convict interviews. I have read thousands of pages of prison genre books from the academic to the autobiographic. I have never heard more incredible history given in an interview than I have with this Fly episode. Holy fkn shit. From Lorton to the ADX. Barry Mills taught him how to play handball? WTF? That's awesome and something no one was expecting to hear except maybe Chad. Damn dude. I though the Troy episode was your channels peak moment. I think this is and you will have more in the future. Thanks, dude. This made my day.

The authorities were so worried about Tom being loose, literally they were afraid of what he might do to the rioting convicts. They refused to bargain with the Cubans. Until. Until the Cubans agreed to hand over Tom. So they pickled his hooch with enough propranolol to knock out an elephant. Handed him over asleep. Did 19.5yr at Marion. What he said about Cadillac is correct. As to Steamboat, Barry and Tommy had ZERO with that hit. During summer 1979 he was attacked twice on C-range then moved to A-range of Control Unit. On Oct.1, 1979 Clay Fountain and Larry Columb stabbed him 70+ times in front of my cell. He robbed dudes on the flats at McNeil? All EME lived on the 3rd tier. The robbery never happened. If it did it would have been a story that reverberated through the entire federal system and become a folklore. There never would have been a standoff, it’s not like the movies. When the Mexican moves on someone their isn’t an announcement. We would not have ran around asking people “Have you seen Fly, were looking for him” A hit team of maybe one or two dudes would have just slipped up to fly and killed him. When McNeil was shutting down Everyone was transferred out. He said he went to Lompoc from Mc Neil. Willie Bobo was transferred back to Lompoc. He was on the line with Champ, Black, Black Bobby, Armie and Sapo. If there was a green light on Fly he would have been hit there. Back then we only had two people who were green lighted and fly wasn’t one of them. Dude said some truth about AB not being racist. All the AB names he dropped were my friends and I grew up with snail. SAPO and myself were on the Merrygoround. Which is when the feds transfer you from place to place. We started from Lompoc to Terminal Island La Tuna, ElReno, Levensworth Terra Haute and the back toLompoc. All the time insegreation. Then we again left Lompoc to Clark county jail in Las vegas to another jail in Utah to a jail in Denver then back to Leavenworth, TerraHaute and then finally to the control unit in Marion. Only one part of this story I know is not true.

I think what fly is referring to is the murder that Mills and fountain did together in Atlanta. I do have to admit his story. Sounds a whole lot more plausible this go around. A lot of things he said made sense like if you think about it. Various numbers were really low back in those days. And I think a lot of the reason why people don't take his story for the truth when it comes to the Gabby situation. It's because people are thinking about the eme in the 80s and 90s.... And also, you gotta think a young cat from DC in the late 70s. Isn't gonna know anything about what's going on out west with the brotherhood and the mexican mafia...

Great interview Chad - I lived in DC for graduate school and actually just left Buffalo, NY after living there for a year. I’m from Chicago, IL (murder capital at one point) - the DC dudes I’ve came across are highly antisocial and aggressive. They didn’t even like saying good morning lol. At this point, these DC dudes need their own prison again.

I’m white 42 and from Philadelphia. I believe this guy. What a great story good shit. Fly is a solid dude. Times were way better then. Tommy was a good man and they tortured him for years and he never broke. Him and Bobby Sands are my heroes

Look up the film 'Hunger' if you haven't seen it. Michael Fassbender plays Sands. Same director as '12 Years a Slave'
