I bet they're banking on the animated series franchise. It's a great idea cuz most of us collectors now grew up with the show so it's very nostalgic. I love looking at the figures on my shelf because it does bring back a lot of memories of good episodes. But articulation and some of the sculpting is a down side. Definitely hope they watch these videos and make changes necessary and down the line improve them. I saw a lot of good figures coming out soon like Gordan, Bullock, etc, so I hope they're not a disappointment. Good review as always.

batman in the animated series had a lot different eye expressions so i'm sure he made squinty eyes in the show

You know I get that feeling about this line too. I think It started strong but now it does feel like they are not trying or something. I still collect the line but my excitement for it is not near as strong. Good review.

When i first discovered they were doing a Mask of the Phantasm 2 pack i always hoped there would be a changable head for the Phantasm that would have been great , but i confess im rather dissapointed in a way that they havent , but im a big fan of this range and would most probably get it in style they look great ! great review i look forward to the next one

Another great review as always Anthony!!! I love the Phantasim as a character and only because of that I may yet buy this set. I really wanted an alternate head and I'm very PO that we didn't get one. I have to admit that do to quality or lack thereof I've been very choosey with what characters I've picked up so far. However I think after this set im done. I truly believe that they are banking on nostalgia to sell these figures. They have the ability to put out good product however they lack the desire all in the name of making more money. That's my take on it anyway. At this point I almost think I should just track down the original. As always thanks again for another great review.

I think the articulation for the whole line is too subpar. Its pretty obvious they were banking on the fact that it is Batman and more specifically Batman The Animated Series. The additional problems like the feet not being flat on the ground is likely them cutting more costs by not checking the sculpt before going into production. I won't buy any of them because i think the articulation is ridiculous looking. Good review as always though.

I find this set weird, I have the same set but my Batman's teeth aren't painted, but the feet on my Phantasm are actually flat, I can stand him/her without the stand with no issue

+StryderHazuki yeah same here it's strange to say the least though i will agree wasn't a big fan of the batman head on either batman figure so i got a custom made one that looks so much better and phenomenal way more accurate to what he normally looked like in the show i mean the the guy who did the work on the figure even made the head interchangeable and made custom accessories for him really can't get over how good my custom batman figure looks to this day was so worth the price despite how much he cost me

Ca Nico BEAUTIFUL ankle PIVOT!!! Haha, I actually say pivot myself, as when I started watching reviews years back I solely followed Shartimus. Then as I expanded my channel viewing I slowly discovered "rocker" was the more commonly used term (and occasionally "tilt"). I'll always be team pivot in my heart though :)

Sadly, this is likely the only version we'll see of the Phantasm in moderately posable action figure plastic crack. Wish another company would do Animated style figures. But I doubt they'd do much better, honestly. Its partially the character design. So angular and flat that it'd be hard to give them proper articulation without it looking even weirder. I wanted this pack until you showed that Phantasm's hood can't move to accommodate the head swivel...wtf is that crap? lol

+urjnlegend i remember those figures ,i had one where bruce wayne turns into batman , it was a statue kinda figure u cannot pose it ,but it was cheap ,also the dc collectible batman animated series stand alone batman figure has mouth which i can't see clearly ,i wish they will improve that also posability is limited, i wish they will release a new stand alone batman figure with improvements :)

+Jimmy McNulty i had one where he had a lil yellow respirator thingy, i had that one the longest. i also had the batwing, and i dont remember the rest. i did however have an animated one with a fabric cape, it was cool

+urjnlegend back in old days , when they released batman line i had one yellow and black costume batman figure with blue helmer and wings ,there was also one white costume batman but honestly these figure are better than justice league batman figure which only looked good but posebility was worse than this

For the price they are asking for these figs, they should be pretty awesome. The eyes don't bother me as much as they do you but the articulation is just ugly and ineffective. There are only a couple of OK looking poses that can be achieved.

I agree with you as regards the inexcusable short comings of this toy line, combined with the hideous hip design and frankly rather pointless articulation - I still haven't bought one of these. They are purposely putting out inferior engineering, only to keep re-releasing improved versions down the line. It's one thing to repaint and tweak the same mold, but it's another thing to purposefully hinder your product, they *can* do (much) better than this. And it's not about production costs either, handicapped engineering is them cheating the consumer in the long run, but if people keep handing over their money -then it's not the toy manufactures fault...
