The barrier language was actually fine. He didn't express everything he wished to but, he managed to make himself understandable and everyone enjoyed a good time. He seems to be a really nice person.

Beasty and such a humble guy. I remember one interview where he said he cried after being assigned - for the first time - to draw Superman in Action Comics. He practioned the S-symbol many, many times.

Amazing how Ivan Reis can make sense of his work. He uses such freedom to express the pages he makes, and apparently is a no gimmick kind of guy. No wonder all his work looks original.

As a fellow Brazilian, it was sad to see him struggle so much with the language during the interview. Since Joe Prado was sitting there nearby, couldn't he have stepped in to provide translation assistance? It's obvious that he has lots of insightful things to say but currently doesn't have the language skills and wasted a lot of time that could be better spent drawing. Ivan Reis is one of the best mainstream comic artists working in the industry right now and deserves better.

But I prefer Ivan's art over Kim's. Kim's art has its place but it's just not for me but I fully recognize his savant-like ability to render with every mark being a final mark that doesn't need to be erased or whited-out.
