The clips from Apocalypse are really well animated, but I have serious problems with the storyboarding. The same animator(s) shouls be able to do something even greater if better storyboarded but I think that's just an opinion. It's not bad, it's still awesome!

I feel like these movies are really held back by the art style and character design. It is just really ugly to look at, and doesn't have a real sense of weight.

I think the character designs are ok depending on the movie but pre new 52 definitely looked better. Justice league Doom has my favorite look/style

I agree on some parts especially the weight part I feel the sound effect on hits should be louder and more intense but overall I think they do a good job.I do hope in the future they take inspiration for Sakuga animation from animation with great animation like season one one punch man

@@loyaltabk superman/batman: apocalypse was my favorite in terms of art and animation I thinks it is pretty well animated compared to dc movies that you will get now. That are just very cookie cutter and basic not very interesting to look at. Still frames every where and just over stiff animation. the art and shading in recent dc movies underwhelming too character designe just looking wonky and just very flat lighting. I would take this old dc animation over what we get now any day

90% of the recent, post Flashpoint DCAU films are poorly storyboarded. I mean, the framing screams cheap and ugly, and they're very choppy. The only exceptions are japanese collaborations like Batman Ninja or Gotham by Gaslight. Justice League Apokolips War was hideous.

I disagree. They've definitely got some shows/movies with ugly animation but none of those are in this video

A good chunk of dc as well as marvel scenes aren’t even animated by western animators. You can see the influence of asian style animation, particularly Japanese, in many. Some are even animated by animators who worked on actual Japanese anime. I think it’s disrespectful to criticize these animation samples merely for being “western”. Perhaps your distaste is more to do with character design.
