DC Direct Arkham City Batman Series 4 Action Figure Review

A Batman Figure I always kinda wanted, but I’m also very wary of ever getting this just for fear of breakage. This was made when DC Direct didn’t do this much articulation and their figures had a more brittle and delicate plastic, which worked for the basic movement most figures had at the time but does not mix well with super articulation.

I couldn’t agree more. Always need to be careful with this Figure because those joint have been known to snap off. I’ve posed this one like crazy and it’s held up though so that’s a plus.

Its a sick lookin figure. Arkham has some of my favorite designs for characters. Not too mention its one of the only story based game(non multiplayer) series i enjoy.

I agree. I just with that they didn’t force so much use of the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. That was a bit trying.

I bought 2 of these back in the day . 1 is still packaged on card and the other figure i did a head swap on. I used a comic version batman head , looks really good. Great review man.

I have quite a few of the Arkham batman figures, and totally agree. He has some of the best articulation. I wish he had been made at the time when DC included alternate hands. A couple of punching fists would be great!

Got them all man Asylum, City, Origins and Knight figures they are sweet. If you ever do get any of the bigger figures like that Titan Joker, Killer Croc (Asylum/city) and Clayface be careful joints aren't good on them many breakages

Yeah I figured that. I have the new 52 Darkseid and it’s got some fragile parts too. I always try to keep in mind that DC Direct and most DC Collectibles are not really Action figures designed to be played with. I gave a bunch of old school DCD figs to my oldest boy about 8 years ago. Needles to say he decimated each one. Lol. 😂🤣

I’ve had a Capullo Flash snap at the groin. It sucked. I find that the DC Icons have been sturdy for me and I’m really betting the Essentials will be good and strong too.

The Arkham origins Batman and Deathstroke figures are a must have..the prices have sky rocketed though

The Deathstroke has been on my list for ages. Glad I managed to pick up the Origins Batman at release though.

The Batman from the Arkham game is a truly sweet, a serious archetype for Batman, I love the long ears they are reminiscent of horns making him look other worldly.

Actually just looking at mine, it's completely different, mine has no articulation in the torso, man the one you have is way better 😭😂

Great one Brad! Always loved the colours used for the Arkham designs and the texturing on this guys suit is brilliant! As a more classic fan though, I've always wondered if the armoured boots and gauntlets would be hard to remove or shave down make look less bulky??

Yep. The boots and gloves are a nice and easy boil and pop. After that it’s just a matter of finding another set that employs the same peg holes from a different figure and seeing if they fit or can be retro fitted. I’m a more classic fan too. My favourite design has minimal details but I think Arkham looks good too!

I replaced the Arkham Knight Batman head with the series 4 head and in my opinion looks way better.

This is definitely a pretty figure. The added articulation is nice as is the cape. But at this point, as is how I feel with many of the Arkham figures, he just isn't anatomically correct. The arms are too short and the legs too long. Or vice versa. So I pilfered the cape for a DCUC custom. Maybe I'll buy him again in the future.

That’s one of the reasons I so easily and remorselessly pilfered my first one for parts. The legs seemed a bit gangly on a short torso. I’ll leave this one as is but it sure does have a whole lot of excellent parts to nab.

You have to bend the left (right on the figure) leg a little to make Talia stand in a way where she doesn't look like she's starring at the sun..

Thats how I had her standing in my display. It’s just real awkward when an action figure needs to be posed in a balancing act. 🤪

pay special attention to the joints, they did that awful thing that funko did with their legacy figures, where the pegs are clear brittle plastic and the bodies are softer and more rubbery, so the pegs shatter, either through play or age, or even testing the joints

Sucks that this figure's cape is stiff and leathery. Had it been made by NECA, it would have had all the articulation as well as the multi-purpose cloth cape where you could get him to do a glide pose or wrap him up.

I like a well executed cloth cape but never felt like it was a necessity. Cloth goods capes seem to done so much better than in the past that they can add so much to a good figure.

Do you have the Arkham Knight Batman? It's my favorite Arkham Batman. I love the articulation it has. It doesn't have the thickest build, but that doesn't bother me as much. Although if they gave the Arkham Origins/City Batman the articulation of the Arkham Knight Batman that might be the best.

I had it but really didn’t like it. The head was too small. Also it’s my least favourite Arkham suit. I can see the appeal it has to others but it was never my cup of tea. I ended up playing the game with the Arkham city and 89 Batman skin.

I feel that the suit is awesome and realistic, but not anatomically correct. As with the Series 4 figure in the video, his legs are lanky and too long. It's just too much of a distraction for me

Figure's design is actually an improvement over the way he looked in the game. LOVE the whole series a bunch, but yeesh only Arkham Origins featured a genuinely cool looking suit design, every single other game featured him in really awkwardly designed costumes. That far too Iron-Man'ish latest iteration always gives him a weirdly dopey expression...

I like Arkham City and Origins the best. I really really don’t like the new one from Arkham Knight. I used the 89 Batman skin for most of it. Lol.

The way all the parts of the cowl & torso suddenly pulled the Iron Man adjusting themselves into place thing just struck me as far too similar to the way Stark's suit is now iconically shown as functioning. I always end up going with the Dark Knight Returns or BvS skins m'self, though I'll always love '89's design.

Dceu has had many influences and the arkham series Batman is definitely one of them. Just look at this suit and the bvs suit. Smh #releasetheSnydercut ! Already dammit
