It was very smart he kept chopping that leg used some grappling to tire out mcgregor and “survive the storm” early on and conor early on kept hitting dustin when dustin threw the leg kick and would just eat the kick and it paid dividends...i was torn between both of them would of felt bad seeing either one losing

That kick isn’t there as much when you’re and orthodox fighter. An orthodox lead leg kick to conors lead leg as a southpaw is a weaker outside leg kick, easier to read, and easier check. Then Justin’s power kick to Conors lead led is an inside leg kick, can hurt obviously, but not a fight ender.

Thank-you, DC, for droppin' the Knowledge on Low Leg Kicks. They can be devastating. Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, and some other Martial Arts focus on them. They can be truly devastating. It's like taking an ax to a tree trunk or tanking Body Blows in Boxing. It kills your stability, your mobility, and deadens your Power and Stamina. I remember a couple of years ago watching an Undefeated MMA Champ in another company win a fight almost exclusively by destroying his opponent's lead leg by targeting it repeatedly. It was the 1st time that I'd seen such a masterful display of Calf destruction.

I'm not a casual and I can see the rematch is warranted. Not for the title, but he does deserve the trilogy, given how good he looked in the first 7 mins, and how one adjustment could easily tip it in his favour. I mean, for the 9.5 minutes total these guys have fought, they've got one KO each, but Conor has looked the better fighter for 9 of those minutes.

They cut weight to go down to 155 to prove they can make the weight limit, and right after that they rehydrate and eat whatever to get back "in shape", if you can't make the limit, then your wins won't be legitimate, plus no human being in their right mind would go into a professional MMA bout dehydrated, they wouldn't last a round. Hope you learned something new.

Over estimated himself. Underestimated Dustin. Conor hasn’t evolved and is predictable, Dustin has evolved and has so many tools in his bag now. I’m surprised it took this long for conors opponents to chop that lead leg. And Conor has wasted his prime development years, fighting mayweather, chasing business and money, drinking and partying. While Dustin was active in the Frey sharpening his sword. Conors power, at 155, isn’t the great equaliser it once was also.

@@notoftentold4076 those kicks were hurting Khabib too. Even after the first round, Gaethjes Corner noticed the effects it had on his walking back to the Cage. You could see Khabib trying hard not to let himself get hit by many either after he felt a few. What made the difference is that Khabib was able to predict, time and react to one of those leg kicks and absorb it while getting the take down. Kicks are the most powerful weapons we have at our disposal but we will ALWAYS lose mobility while throwing them. Khabib knew he only needed to take one kick to secure one take down in the second round to end the fight. Sacrifice and trade off.

He worked on takedown defence and clench, again this is less time in the gym working striking.
