Lap winding and wave winding connections are entirely different. If you look into the figure of lap winding and wave winding you can understand the clear difference. so generally we take lap winding A = P and for wave winding A=2

please check the last question.In lap winding number of poles=number of brush....since there are 4 poles so voltage drop must be 4*1=4 but you have written 2*1=2.How did that happen ?

There are 2 brushes ..Contact drop is to be find out ..In the question contact drop per brush is already given as 1..So total contact drop= 2 × 1= 2

Hi, I have rewinded 1MWatt Sandford alternator, during startup the stator winding get firing in particular slot and again we will replace the demaged coils again getting fired during installation at same slot. Can I know the what is reason for this issue
