After Valentina vs Taila, Chael literally said in a video on his channel something to the effect of "damage is the #1 criteria, the term 'submission attempt' doesn't even show up". Google the unified rules, "submission attempt" absolutely shows up in the prioritized criteria under "Effective Striking/Grappling" and the word "damage" does not.

Valentina was the better fighter for the majority of the fight. She was the more sophisticated striker & much better technically. Valentina schevchenko said herself she needed a knockout or a submission to win that fight and she didnt get either of those. I really dont care about the draw because schevchenko should not have won that fight either way. Grasso retaining her belt is all that matters and she did that.

Once again, if judges were encouraged to give 10-10 rounds instead of being forced to give out a 10-9 bc the rules encourage it these bad decisions would happen less. People think that this would make more fights end in draws but if only one round wasn’t a draw it wouldn’t end up that way. Too easy yet he we go, arguing over this again

Exactly!! If a round isn’t crystal clear, I’d like to think that a 10-10 round is justifiable. The current scoring system encourages bad decisions, but in MMA I believe that draws should be (somewhat) common. We shouldn’t be freaking out every time there’s a draw; we SHOULD be freaking out for the bad decisions rendered by judges.

Apparently we’re in the minority here but it’s the answer to all these close fights resulting in split decisions just bc judges feel the need to give out a 10-9 round no matter what. Then everyone debates who they thought won when it’s a draw. The argument I get from most people is that if you dish out 10-10 rounds that would result in too many draws. First of all it wouldn’t bc all you would need is one round we’re there isn’t a tie round and then it wouldn’t end up that way. Second, I’d rather see a draw than another fighter getting screwed out of a win, $, belts just bc a judge thought their opponent had better octagon control. Give me a break!

Congrats on 100 episodes. I think the fight mileage has caught up to Valentina. That was her 14th straight 5 round fight. I think for people it was just weird af seeing Valentina in the ROLE of a challenger. Its been ages since she had to wear the WHITE outfit. The stats couldnt justify a Valentina win. It was a close fight. Kamajchos scorecard is what i had 3-2 Alexa. A draw made sense.

Judging matches takes work. The commissions want a winner of each round. Yet the frustration created is unnecessary. Some rounds are so close that a reasonable judge should be able to score a 9-9 or 10-10. The fourth round was very close. I could have scored 10-9 for Valentina or 10-9 for Alexa. Split rounds should go to a score of 10-10, or 9-9. The 10-8 score just told me that the judge , Michael Bell, saw that Alexa was beating Alexa beyond a 10-9 score. I saw the Alexa win, twice.

Having both your hands( on the ground) to avoid taking knees to the head is absolutely not cheating 😂 there's nothing nice about it at all 😂plus it's a well known rule. Difference is, in Nevada it must be both hands while Val only had one touching the ground

@tevinochieng2225 one thing is having them placed on the ground while you were an actual geound opponent, the other thing is forcing yourself to try to make your hands touch the floor for your opponent to get disqualified is another. She was hurt in that 4th round, and she immediately was looking for a way out. Alexa was never hurt or dropped! The only time she was actually in danger was in round 3 when she was about to get submitted on the choke. But other than that nothing. Velentina almost got finished 3 times, got hurt and dropped in the 2nd, got rocked and kneed tf out on the 4th to the point she was looking a way out trying to touch the ground to disqualify her opponents, 5th round regardless of those stupid jabs, valentina got hurt again In the 5th tried to secured a take like the 2nd round when she got hurt, but actually gave her back!!! Got ground & pound while being on her back almost got chocked out or that neck crank was deep just like in the 1st fight!saved by the bell! But again Grasso ended on valentinas back with significant strikes and almost got thr submission in their were only like 5 or 10 more seconds Valentina would've tapped just like the 1st fight. Never leave it to the judges!!! Valentina she's the challenger and put of those 10 rounds they fought only one round was Grasso in danger! And that was fight #2 in the 3rd round when she almost got choked out.

Congrats on 100 episodes.. I got an analogy for both of you.. If someone does 100 plays and and gets 10 yards a play. They scored 10 times. That’s 10 touchdowns. Now someone gets 1 Hail Mary touchdown. Does the 1 Hail Mary beat the 10 touchdowns? I don’t think sooo. That’s why damage is stupid. Now a Hail Mary can finish the fight if the other team can’t continue like Chael and Silva. But if they keep playing… scores are scores.
