If you're looking to explore specific characters, I'd strongly recommend just starting with Geoff Johns' runs on Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, Shazam, or Justice League, If you're looking to start with Batman, read the New 52 run by Snyder. For Superman, definitely go with Rebirth. You'll probably wanna go with Rebirth for Wonder Woman, but my favorite run was actually the New 52 run by Azzarello.

@@danielegbert4046 that's a tough situation for a new collector and I remember when I first got into collected editions it was really frustrating. In general, Marvel and DC don't reprint trades or OHC's. Sometimes they will put out "complete collections" that will reprint the material. Omnibus' can get reprinted but there's no rhyme or reason to their release. Depending on how old the book is, you can try visiting different LCS' around you/when you travel. You can read them digitally too. If you search for a book on ebay and it's way more than cover price, hit the Save This Search "heart" and it will alert you when new ones are listed and sometimes people will list them for a decent price. Email me: [e-mail] with what you're looking for and I can give you more specific advice!

Tom King's Batman has the sweet 5 Deluxes then a tpb then 2 HCs featuring Bane in City of Bane that wrapped his run in Batman "proper" ending with issue 85.

Have you read Tom Taylor’s Suicide Squad? Now that’s a fun series! You were mentioning around the 20 minute mark how there hasn’t been any really solid runs since Ostrander. I think Taylor breaks the curse despite only having an 11 issue run

Brandon the Rebirth SS isn't very good honestly. The best one is Justice League vs Suicide Squad, which there is a link for in the description. Also the recent Suicide Squad Bad Blood by Tom Taylor is excellent and I put a link up in the description for it too even though it's not technically Rebirth. I also dug N52 SS and it's Rebirth treatment is less than stellar sadly.

So i am trying to make sense of the Flash. In the first deluxe it collects issue 1-12 and the flash rebirth #1. If i look at the solicited omni 3 from flash it collects issue 9-12 but also the flash rebirth #1-6. So are there 2 different flash comics during rebirth? Why arent the flash: rebirth 2-5 collected in the deluxe. Sorry I am so confused on what i should get

Fairplay to you for liking King's Batrun but hard pass on 75% of King's Batman for moi. The only collections I really like are Volume 4 - War of Jokes and Riddles & Volume 10 - Knightmares), teh rest of the issues I got as floppies (36 - 38/44/48/48 - 54) I'm the same way about Harley Quinn, but after The New Suicide Squad title and Harley v Joker's daughter - I stopped collecting the floppies and sold 90% of my Volume 4, New Suicide Squad Volume 1, and Volume 5 floppies...buut I did like Volume 6 and I like every Harley solo title back to vol 1 and all of the Black Label books but I disliked Heroes in Crisis...although Harley was 'decently' written. Annd just to be pedantic, Harley's origin did change from pre to post Flashpoint, with her origin post being reflected in the 1st Suicide Squad movie

I’m not sure I am understanding your point properly. I was just focused on the HQ title being a continuation of the N52 run. Did I mention her origin? I don’t have an issue with your statement about her origin, that seems right. I just don’t know how it ties into this video? Not being argumentative at all! Just wondering where it fits in with Rebirth. Most of the stories you cited that weren’t good (and I agree on all of them!) weren’t part of Rebirth proper. Peace and love!

@@omnidogsvault1530 Do you still recommend getting the Superman and Action collections missing those parts of the story or just get them as tpb? Just after the best reading experience, which by the way the reason I don't like these 1,000+page monstrosities they call Omni's, lol. I get that you and others do, but for me complete collection format, 400-600 pages, $40.00 a pop is a better buy and reading experience. Lugging around extra large phone books, worrying about the spine, but that's just my opinion. Side note, I discovered your channel a few months ago and enjoy your content. We share the same love for comics and it's great to see that in your reviews. You are appreciated. Yes, I see the irony of not liking Omni's and following someone called OmniDog, but you collect other formats too, lol.

@@ItLiesInTheNoggin haha OmniDog was a nickname given to me. Truth be told, my favorite reading experience comes from OHC's! I'm not a big fan of giant books either. I loved the Deluxe HC's that came out with Rebirth initially. Superman Reborn can be purchased separately and read alongside the Superman book, Supersons should really be read in the expanded edition omni which is a bargain for the material. But since you don't like omni's I guess I'd recommend getting the Superson's TPB's. I would 100% recommend getting the Superman and Action books as Supersons is completely standalone from the Batman and Superman books. Reborn can be read at a certain point in the Superman readthrough, I'll check it out and mention where to read it in my TPB video.

Batman & the Signal? I thought that every single DC Rebirth book was good and overall the books are at least an 8 out of 10. It is the best set of books that has ever been written in comics history. They should do this again.

@@OmnidogsVault The Flash is still coming out with a volume 14 but everything else except this title has been launched again with new authors. Out of the post launch titles maybe Justice League Dark, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Justice League Odyssey, and Teen Titans are worth getting perhaps. I also went for the Aquaman and Detective Comics but a few of mine are broken like Nightwing and Batgirl, however the authors have changed on those several times so no big deal. It is hard to keep up to them unless they launch them all at the same time. I can get them cheaper though if I buy them late.

Comicbooks are so confusing to follow
