I wish they would have spent more time talking about the technical design and realization of the planing surfaces and rear paddle-wheel design iterations. That to me is the fun stuff. Granted the final product is extremely cool, but it's the getting there where the real challenge is.

This pretty Amazing! Though seems if you go down in deep water I don't see a Float to rescue the Bike. Dudes whom do this on Snowmobiles have a rescue Float. Still must be a blast to go from squirting along on the beach on a good Pipey 2 stroke to gassing it into 4th gear and hitting the water and slipping away over the waves! Nothing Like that rush of adrenaline as you twist that throttle and feel the front wheel lift . and the Smell of Klotz

There are hydrophobic coatings that you can spray on metals, as well as corrosion inhibitors that might have helped this process of trial and error as they were designing and refining the idea. I love this, as silly and ultimately somewhat ridiculous a one-off project something like this is. I see it something like the impulse to climb mt. Everest. "But why?" Someone inevitably asks, and of course the answer is , "Because no one else has ever done it."

It's kinda amazing how each generation gets on a bike and does things generation's before never even imagined. My time was in the 70 s and 80s. Riders actually wanted to keep bikes in contact with ground ( imagine that) because the best tricks were low lap times. If we were asked how to set a bike up to do flips front or backwards we d have said dude great real and you need to stop smoking that shit. It's affecting your brain. But .... along comes a new generation of riders lead by some Pastrana kid that apparently were not listening and believed doing crazy flips or just getting off and back on in the most imaginative ways ,flying from ever increasing jumps was possible. I m still shaking my head thinking you can't do that. No Grandpa you can't we did I bet they would say. Water , naa even Pastrana couldn't so... What's the limit possible future riders may not be afraid to try or be convinced it can't be done. Hey Great Grandpa what are limits?
