DC Skate Shoes - Are They Worth It? (Lynx OG Review)

You explaining your beginning with dc shoes and other brands that kids were wearing was literally 100% how it was for me growing up and then slowly they died off but recently i got these and was super suprised that they skated so well

I did the same thing as you. I started with the Legacy 98 slim, which actually lasted me quite a long time in comparison to like the shane oniell nike or even a nike dunk. Then I got a bit chunkier with the Lukoda and then Lynx OG, both of which don't look like they are going to wear out anytime soon after 3 months of skating. After talking with some guys who are into DC, the general consensus is that any OG shoe is built extremely well, while a lot of the other products don't get the attention to detail. I just picked up a Legacy OG and I'm convinced it will never wear out. Dope vid!

I skated DCs growing up a lot, the pure model was always my go to, I’ve had a pretty big break in skateboarding and recently getting back into it, currently I’m skating the Nyjah 2s, and I really them, but I think ima try a pair of the Lynx just to compare to the Nyjahs

DC shoes are solid. They use a 'super' suede that is legit and they often make cupsole shoes, which I prefer. The cupsole of theirs is very responsive and durable.. The sizing of their shoes are also consistent. My favorite of their newer shoes are the penza and striker. They don't hurt my feet and the shoes look sick as hell. I never got into the skinny no padding skate shoes that hurt like hell when landing primo. So, I'll stick to DC

Everyone loves the new vans insoles but the difference with DC is that they have a thin insole and a ton of padding underneath it which I think is better, it feels much more comfortable just walking and the big tongue on the lynx or lynx zero is what shoes used to feel like! It's the way to go, slim shoes make no sense, especially skating. I too saw DC go through a look phase, rob Dyrdek and motocross and mall kids wearing the grossest ones but look at DC now, some sick shit and nobody knows what is sick that doesn't skate. The way is should be.

I feel like the shoe is just a little harder to skate in cause of the bulk and it's a low-key skill test for most skaters. Getting used to them is a pleasure. If you want the Zero, grab the Jahmir ones! The tongue strap brings that model together and it's super suede but I'd highly HIGHLY recommend checking out the DC Kalis S. That is one of the their much much better skate shoes that no one seems to know about. You'll see Carlos Iqui wearing them a bunch and other international pros. There's no Super Suede models available right now but if you can get those in your size do it! It feels like what their better skate shoes have felt like like the Tiago, Plaza, Wolf, Centric models.Glad you liked the OGs! They're currently my favorites to wear!

I don’t know how you can say that Nike and Adidas put more detail into their shoes, if you did say that... I couldn’t be further away....I like and own many Adidas. Haven’t owned Nike’s in well over a decade minimum cos they don’t seem to tick any boxes for price or wearability... as for style i guess it’s each to their own and what you can get your hands on. And for what purpose, I do think there’s a large gap in skate shoes where there’s no obvious durable out performing shoe that is also supportive and protecting ankles & feet which is what is needed. Not solely based on what’s fashionable or who has put there name on an existing shoe and changed nothing but a colour here and there

If i can find them in stock in my size id skate them , I usually skate the accel ogs and love them , I literally cant skate anything else , specially shoes with too much boardfeel like vans or lakai too definitely cant skate anything like that just feels to weird like skating in socks

The lynx og is a true skate shoe. It’s better in terms of durability and comfortable than the nike sb dunks that skate kids worship nowadays

For me as "Mr Nike" inventing NIKE in 1977 and starting with Eddison Sports as a bought company specialising in Tennis gear aehy've tried a few different sports shoes, also me being Grand Prix Elste with Grand Prix World Records in athletics inclusively of the Juniors 100m hurdles, 200m sprint a World Juniors 1500m gold (all in the year 1986) and World Records in the Seniors 3km, 5km, 10km running aehy take sports footwear seriously and can judge as accurately as anyone else what will be useful over it's lifetime for ankle, knee, hip, back comfort and yes on functional basis my NIKE Air® aehy believe the best, however if you're searching for something stylish, hard wearing, stable, forgiving and value for money try DC Shoes, for a non-suspended street shoe DC are noticeably good where things immediately count - your heels.

Honestly, just give it time. They're always going to feel super uncomfortable but the best thing I can say is just be patient and don't get frustrated if you're skating isn't up to par at first, you'll eventually get use to them.
