I will say it again, I think this process is much more humane. Girls who have no shot at making the team aren't spending thousands of dollars to show up and be sent home, and girls who have a decent shot aren't setting up their entire life there (apartment, school, job, etc.) only to be cut toward the end of training camp. I understand the other process is better for a TV show but when you think about how much they have to spend to be apart of the audition/TC process and how little they get paid, this process just seems more financially equitable to the women.

I honestly think it helps Kelli and Judy out too. They can immediately tell who can quickly pick up new choreography and who can't. And they don't have to waste time teaching the girls stuff they should --presumably know how to do already. It's the DCC equivalent of a pre test. We do VERY similar things in the music and education world.

I saw a few rookies that Kat can't hold a candle to. I don't like it when girls make the team based solely on their looks. Doesn't seem fair to the girls who have trained all their lives in dance.

Tammera Mercer DCC is more than a dance team, they’re a brand. Someone like Kat would be a good face for the organization and she developed into a strong dancer. Besides, the most technique they do during their regular season performances is a double pirouette. Show group is where the more trained girls can showcase that.

This year was probably so much easier for the girls. They didn’t have to travel to Texas just to try out even though they might not make training camp, they got to learn routines on there own vs with the pressure of Kelly and Judy right off the bat, and didn’t have to find their own housing. I didn't really like Marissa's solo audition but here she really captivates your attention. I actually loved Amelia's solo but in a group number she doesn't shine nearly as much. It's really nice that the girls don't have to worry about finding housing and employment while in training camp. Since everybody is there, they can do a lot more in a day and they have no reason to be late or absent for anything. I wonder how early their day starts because they didn't do that girl's critique meeting until after 11pm.
