My take away. Ruto was framed. The framer sent Echesa and wazungu to DP's office. The framer informed Kenei that Echasa has an appointment with Ruto who was vividly absent from his office. the Framer was constantly in conversation with Kenei. Kenei told Ruto the truth about the entire incident before he was murdered. So this powerful framer killed Kenei to conceal information that Ruto and the Sgts present during Ruto's meeting with his security had already known.

Since Echesa is Ruto's best Friend and he knows well that Ruto is friendly to corrupt deals and he wanted to execute the deal convincingly to the foreigners, he had to use Ruto's office which is the second-highest office in the Country to make the deal look authentic.
