With tutorials, often I use KZbin's settings (click on the gearwheel) to set the playback speed to 75 percent. Even then, I sometimes back up the video a bit, re-watch something I'm struggling with. Especially helpful when I'm working in GIMP, doing the exercise along with the instructor.
