Heads up: LOTS of annoying APU warning beeping
Featuring a minimal cold start, a bad takeoff, failing to figure force trim holds out, missiles, rockets, guns, and as always, finished with an ending of a few minutes of nothing followed by - bang -
And as a bonus pointed out in comments, nonstop loud beeping due to forgetting to turn the APU off
If you like videos where you constantly ask yourself "what the hell is he doing" you're in the right place because I have no idea what the hell I'm doing

Vtol is how I got started in sims, and while I'm a sloppy mess in the video, if you ever get into dcs or just want to ask me anything feel free to FR me on discord; tag is just "sterg" I don't know your ram/cpu situation but your card is probably fine (you can play on a monitor with or without head tracking otherwise) thing is more though the game is "free" everyone ends up spending more than they'd think between planes (also there's a free mod that's good; the a4ec) and hotas' - just a warning, vtol background may help, but there's an enormous amount of learning for dcs, which is a big part of the appeal really And for what it's worth there is a vtol plane I like (harrier) but you mostly use the nozzle for short takeoffs given weight restrictions. And if you liked the fa26, the f16 in dcs is a solid choice all around for modern planes There's a lot to ramble about which I'll save for the sake of not spamming my comments with an essay

Turn your APU off after you throttle up the engines after start. Idk how you're able to stand that caution chirping, but that's why it's doing that. You only need the APU on again if you plan on throttling down the engines and want to keep any TDC data, radio, or other settings you've changed etc.

Yeah I legit just forgot, didn't know that's what that beeping was though, and like overzealous RWRs I tuned it out. Irony is the startup is the simplest in DCS and I can do the longest ones with no mistakes That aside if there's any other blatant fuckups I didn't acknowledge feel free to scold me, no sarcasm

@@poopspoon Aww no. No scolding from me. I just wasn't sure if you knew and I hoped you weren't always flying around not knowing where that sound was coming from. I kind of figured you were tuning it out because you were taking ground fire, but I wasn't sure. I still haven't solved the F/A-18C chirp related to the afterburner. Everyone says you just have to set a home fuel waypoint, and I do that, but still, sometimes on take-off that annoying 'dee doop dee doop' goes off when I hit the afterburner. Sometimes it doesn't and I still don't know why. Maybe someone has figured it out by now? It's been awhile since I've looked. I've always thought it might just be a small bug.

@@roostercogburn3272 Oh I was joking, it's legitimately appreciated. As for the F18 when I used to use it, longest startup in existence was my issue; and I found dumb ways to streamline it too
