Oh wow, this video is a big educational asset. I'm thankful as I know now how to waveoff/bolter properly!

Thanks Fardad! I'm just an enthusiast...but the internet and open sources put together in demonstration form is how we roll. It's the inputs, corrections, and sharing by others that makes us all great!

Thanks. Helpful.

I hope at some point they animate the LSO’s. Those guys give me the creeps! Thank you for the comment about nose down trim during flaps deployment. Now I don’t have to ballon up to 1,000 feet until I’ve bled off enough speed to settle into my 3.5 degree descent rate. HUGE HELP!

That would be awesome...I'm also hoping they give a human LSO the Waveoff Switch! On the nose trim, someone shared with me 2 seconds which worked fine.

Hey juice, thanks for the video! Question: do you trim out to hold aoa? I noticed your e bracket was bouncing up and down quite a bit and your control indicator showed constant aft stick. Just wondering if I'm reading that correctly, and if so, wondering if you had a reason for doing it that way. I was taught to trim (appox 3 seconds of aft trim) so that your tvv sits in the middle of the E bracket without stick input and using the stick post-break is mostly for roll control. As a result of trimming this way, your speed stays steady and you control decent/ascent rate using throttle. I'm by no means an expert, so just trying to see what your thoughts were on it. Thanks!

Hey Jon, I fly it manually most of the time...I do trim once the pressure gets noticeable. I think for intended traps Trim is the way to go, but when doing intentional Touch-n-Go, I fly manually so I'm not over controlling the trim and having to adjust for speed change all the time. Most of what you are seeing with the E bracket moving up and down is a result of throttle input...more power, E bracket goes up and throttle back, the Bracket drops.

To be honest @Jon L is correct. It shouldn't be flown 'manually' .Triming and steady minor inputs are the way this is taught i.e bouncing e bracket is just incorrect..as is the stall warnings! If a pilot heard stall warnings during case 1s then I think they would in trouble. You don't have to adjust trim all the time for speed changes during wave offs and bolters. I'm still learning but I can do all that without warnings and bouncing e brackets.

Similar here...I was taught 2 seconds of nose down trim when deploying the flaps...but now that I use the Speed Brake on each kissoff, I'm noticing that if I go half at 200kts and full at 175kts, the nose doesn't balloon up as much. My thing is it goes great when no one is looking or I'm not filming. LOL!
