Which bug are you referring to? Where it locks you out selecting a Data Link Target by pressing the Type button is likely a direct result of it taking that as you wanting to store a new target on the Target Point or currently lased area. I think then it's only when you press the 2nd row buttons that it gets your context of you wishing to send it instead and lets you select things (this bit is in the manual), but that also then allows you to bypass/skip sending it and just DL Ingress instead (this last bit isn't in the manual). On the inaccuracy side, I'm not sure if the Data Link Targets parse altitude, but they're only working on 6 coordinates, so that's usually prone to being out, but usually ballpark to get you looking in the right direction.

@@volkvoort Sorry for being vague. I wasn't referring to Datalink bug itself. Altho keep having to look up and down between Datalink panel and ABRIS in VR is another reason I stopped using Datalink. I'd use it more if the mouse would stay on datalink buttons while looking at ABRIS to cycle targets. But the bug in AI makes assigning targets moot point. What good is it if your wingman can't make use of the targets you send. I also reported this bug a while ago which I'm not sure has been addressed. @@BrianHSC Ah yeah. Those AI wingmen seem to send data link targets mostly fine (maybe not every single target out there, unsure), but yeah, I've had campaign missions struggle from the AI not acting on Data Link targets in some of the deployment missions - missions clearly designed to have x2 Sharks spend their ammo. Fun stuff. If going heads down to look for which Data Link Target specifically is flashing on the ABRIS (unless you only mark 1 target per category button regardless of what it is) is a problem for your VR, maybe try the Target Points instead. The next tut for this I'm going into keybinds and stuff as well, but because of the direct access with Target Points to a specific one that might mean less heads-down time.

Really useful series, thanks. I'm sure you might know, but you can flick a switch at the bottom right of the centre console and it will change the computer voice to be more specific when reporting stuff, e.g. rather than say 'watch EKRAN' she will say 'received data' when receiving a DL target.

Thanks. And I actually didn't know that - sounds cool. Though that was just cutting down on frequency of messages or muting Almaz... so this I'm assuming this is the toggles next to the landing lights, probably the "On-Emergency) switch. “ВКЛ” is normal mode and “АВАР” is emergency mode with doubling all EKRAN messages with VMS sound" on the right?

@@volkvoort Hi, I just checked the manual and yes that's correct. So I guess the main purpose is if the EKRAN is broken for whatever reason, but I like to toggle it so that I don't have to look at the EKRAN!

@@volkvoort Haha I just saw your new video! It is also a part of my start-up routine. I only found out about it relatively recently by watching a streamer on Twitch called Mell12345 who often showcases the Shark and all the little things that you often don't realise, so I'd highly recommend anyone taking a look if interested.

Is this game playable on PS4 or ps5?

PC only I'm afraid. Although I think Eagle Dynamics is/was working on a "Modern Air Combat" or MAC (not to be confused with Mass Air Combat) that I think was going to be slightly lighter on the simulation side (more arcadey). Don't know much beyond that. But for DCS you typically need a full system of flight stick, throttle/collective, maybe pedals and then head-tracking/VR. I've tried flying originally with a PS controller using the gyro movement to 'look around'...but yeah it's not the same.
