Thank You! I haven´t changed the curves at all. If You want to know the setting of buttons, it´s a little lower here in the comments section in the answer to Dylan Koke. I think it´s only a matter of time and You will get great take offs and landings.

Hi. Thanks a lot. Yeah, it´s full realism, playing with X52 and in all of my videos (except last with FW-190) I used only the twist on joystick to control the rudder. But I must say it´s 100% better with pedals now. :-) Thank You. My hardware is always in the video description.

The campaign is awesome. It took me three or four times to complete this mission. After I found out that I was shooting armor piercing rockets at the infantry and that is totally not effective at all. My favourite load-out is the S8FP2 rockets and the 23mm gunpods. I think it is actually common practice to overfly your target when flying the Mi8 (and Mi24 for that matter) This is because you can't change the elevation of your hardpoints like in some western (attack) helicopters.

Pieter Stam In fact, I haven´t changed the loadout a single time in the campaign. I don´t know why. The AI in the game really follows the right procedure, when they attack. You always get some good spraying, when You overfly the target, but Mi-8 can get some beating and still fly ok.:-)

Yes, you are right. But I like to mess around with the load-outs to see what does what. And if anything else works better for me. I even tried the grenade launchers. They are supposed to be effective against infantry and small vehicles. And even tough I got the shells to land were I wanted them to, the effect wasn't half as good as a shot of S8fp2 rockets!

Well.. I think it was a pretty shitty shooting in this mission, so definitely no lock on. :-) I think it's even impossible to have some sort of aiming aid in DCS.

oh i miss this damaged cockpitglass in my P51 and Dora so much ! And i missengines spitting oil out when damaged sometimes....they have much work to do with damage model !!

You are right. DCS´ damage model just sucks. And what sucks even more is the unearthly AI behaviour, when You fight P-51 with Your Dora and on the climbing peak You both have around 200 km/h and the Mustang suddenly starts climbing like a rocket. Stupid stupid stupid.......but still...it´s a great sim.

Thank You! In fact, I used the default axis settings. The only thing I have changed, is the collective throttle. I assigned it to the slider on the HOTAS throttle and on the stick rockers I have T1-UP weapons arm, T1-DOWN comms, T-2-UP/DWN wepons selector, T-3 UP/DWN rockets salvo size. Button 5 is trimmer and button 4 is trimmer reset. Button 7 on throttle for UV-26 start dispensing. Button 26 and 24 (it´s a hat) is for slowly zoom in / out. I use it a lot. And that is all. Nothing special. :-)

First,...I thought I underestimated my RAM, when I was building my comp, but to be honest, I don´t know a game, which really demands more. DCS is fast as hell with this. What is making that god awful high pitched shoosh shoosh shoosh noise? I realize that it's part of the helicopters normal operation, but it's nerve wracking. What aspect of the helo causes that?

:-D not sure what exactly you mean, but I think its made by high speed rotor blades going through the air. Not really sure. I like that sound. :-)

+Stephen Sims I believe, unless i'm wrong in which sound you're describing, that you're hearing the engines. Their intakes, as you can see during the takeoff in this video, are right above the cockpit. This produces that high-pitched whine and when coupled with the sound of the rotors you get that 'shoosh shoosh shoosh' as well.

cs512tr I really like helicopters, so I'm ok with it, but I agree, I would like to see some modern hardware already. But as long as they will try to create it as real as possible, there is always problem with the classified informations about newer fighters, choppers, etc... So let's keep our fingers crossed. :-)

Yup...but rebels don't have such weapons in this campaign. About the weapon...I think I saw it in the editor, that soldiers are equipped by AK-74s.

Wow! Those rebels have no reason to complain about the quality their basic weapons. AK-74 has smaller caliber but higher muzzle velocity than AK-47 or AKM. Meaning bullets fly straighter (less worry about "bullet drop" in long range) and the rifle should behave better in full-auto. Still it does equal amount of damage with AK-47 because bullets of both weapons often fall from tip to their side when they impact with target (explains why victims often have a small hole at entry but a large hole at bullets exit point). You were absolutely correct to edit to the video clip "AK-74 is no joke". However, I wouldn't be surprised if AK-74 was less tolerant to unfavorable conditions than AK-47. However can you tell me more about the identity of those rebels. Afghan Mujahadeen who were hostile to Soviet forces and the Communist government Afghanistan had some decades ago?

I don't think, the Eagle Dynamics really thought about this as much as You do. They just gave them some russian rifle and it's done. :-) Anyway....this is in Georgia and as far as I know, there is also very strong muslim community and there You have Your rebels. Sorry...don't remember the background on the campaign. Just Russians against rebels. :-) I'm not taking it too seriously TBH. Just give me targets and I will try to take them out.

You are comparing two different things. Arma is arcade flying. It can never reach the level of flight simulation as DCS. In the same time, I doubt DCS can reach the level of detail and the number of controllable units.
